Before a lunch appointment pulls me away from the computer for a while, I found the endorsements of these first few Assemblymen especially interesting.

You have Jim Silva exactly mirroring the endorsements of Bates and Campbell.

You have Chuck DeVore taking a very cautious, and probably very smart approach, only having endorsed Bob Huff and Mimi Walters out of the 5 races so far.

And you have Van Tran doing... I can't really figure out what exactly it is Tran is doing.

I don't even know if it is meant to be a secret any longer that Tran is slowly building to run against Loretta Sanchez in 2010. So, one would assume that the endorsements made now - the endorsements that may influence who Assemblyman Tran's surrounding Senators and neighboring Assemblymen are - would be made with great care. But instead, the endorsements Tran has made - or at least is rumored to be preparing to make - are nothing short of puzzling. Given his 5 choices, it is altogether very possible that a win for the Trannies on Election Day would be to have 1 out of his 5 candidates win. 2 for 5 would be cause for celebration given the tough spot they've put themselves in.
