California Alliance to Protect Private Property Rights Endorses Mimi Walters for State Senate

(Lake Forest, CA) -- The California Alliance to Protect Private Property Rights has endorsed Republican Assemblywoman Mimi Walters' candidacy for the State Senate.

"Mimi Walters has been a strong and outspoken defender of private property rights," said former Senator Jim Nielsen, President of California Alliance to Protect Private Property Rights and Co-Sponsor of Proposition 98. "Walters' work to end the abuse of eminent domain and her leadership in the Legislature protecting property rights makes her the right choice for State Senate."

Assemblywoman Mimi Walters, who is running for the Senate in the 33rd District, is widely recognized as the foremost property rights champion in the Assembly.  In 2006, Walters was Honorary Statewide Co-Chair for Proposition 90, the Protect Our Homes Initiative which came very close to passing in spite of being outspent by nearly 15 to 1.

"Property rights are a fundamental foundation of all our other rights as Americans," said Walters. "I am very happy to receive the endorsement of the California Alliance to Protect Private Property Rights and pledge to continue my work to protect California property owners."

The California Alliance to Protect Private Property Rights (CAPPPR) is a coalition of family homeowners, farmers, community and taxpayer advocates committed to exposing the dangers and abuses of eminent domain -- the government's taking of private property from unwilling sellers.

Walters was elected to the Assembly in 2004 and reelected in 2006. In addition to the CAPPPR she is endorsed for Senate by the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, the California Republican Assembly, Republican Congressman Ed Royce, Republican Senator Dick Ackerman and the vast majority of local, state and federal Republican public officials in the area.
