Orange Council Delays Vote On "Landlord-As-Informant Act of 2008"

I posted yesterday that the Orange City Council was due for a second reading vote on an ordinance conscripting property owners and commercial landlords into being informants for the city's Business License Division.
Gotta maximize the business tax revenues, you know.
I just called the City Clerk's office and learned the Council decided to continue the vote until April 22.
Stay tuned...

I must have been buried with government compliance issues the first time this came around and did not see the discussion. From what little I know of this, it is insane. Any Orange City Council member who votes for this should be recalled, much less voted out of office at the next election.
Several years ago I debated these fees with an Orange city employee. The arrogance was disgusting. Everything to keep Orange city employees with lush benefits packages. He could not give a rip about the burden it places on businesses.
