OC GOP Endorsement Committee: No Stance on Judicial Office No. 4

Aside from taking a position on the 1st Supe District, the Orange County GOP Endorsement Committee also made several recommendations on four other contested judicial races for the June Election.
For Superior Court Judge, Office No. 4, the committee recommended a "No Endorsement" in this race because both candidates (Michael Bartlett and Nick Thompson) have strong ties to the OC GOP establishment.
Business attorney Michael Barlett is the husband of Dana Point Councilwoman Lisa Barlett -- Councilwoman Barlett is part of Mayor Diane Harkey's mini political machine down in south county. Mr. Bartlett is endorsed by Congressman John Campbell, state Sen. Tom Harman, Assemblyman Van Tran, BOE Member Michelle Steel, you can click here to read the rest of the list.
Deputy District Attorney Nick Thompson is no lightweight either when it comes to getting powerful endorsements. Thompson is endorsed by Congressman Ed Royce, state Sen. Dick Ackerman, Assembly Members Mimi Walters, Chuck DeVore, Todd Spitzer, Mike Duvall, and of course the most coveted nod in any OC judicial races -- the support of District Attorney Tony Rackauckas. You can also click here to view the rest of Mr. Thompson's endorsements.
Other than the information above and that on their website, I don't know very much about these two these candidates and will probably not make a decision as who to vote for until Election Day.

"...and of course the most coveted nod in any OC judicial races -- the support of District Attorney Tony Rackauckas"
Sure about that?
In my humble opinion, if Tony doesn't charge the miscreant Sheriff's Department employees with obstruction of justice then it's hard to see how his endorsement would carry any moral authority at all - just the reverse, in fact.
And I would very much like to know whether or not Carona conspired with Galisky to tamper with evidence to the Grand Jury. That's a felony, isn't it?
So far a lot of hand-wringing for the public and not much justice.
personally I see absolutley no validity to a partisan organization endorsing a candidate for judgeship. In fact I see this as reason to completly avoid these two candidates all together. I do not want judges who will consider WWCRD? Or what would carl Rove Do? In their decisions.
I want a judge who is going to follow the law and not worry about any backlash from Scot Baugh, Mike Schroeder, Juabl, et al.
Needless to say, I will not be casting a vote for any of the above mentioned candidates for judgeship. Simply seekign out the endorsement of the GOP is enough for me to not vote for them. Conversly the same principle applies to any judge candidate seeking the Democratic endorsement.
