I didn't think I would hear anything to top what's in the Grand Jury report on Theo Lacy Jail and the Chamberlain murder.
I may be wrong.
A little while ago I heard a rumor that two deputies had Tasered a cat. That's right -- a cat.
So I called OCSD spokesman Jim Amormina, fully expecting to learn it's just some urban legend localized into a rumor about OC jail deputies.
After I told him why I was calling, Amormino said it's "too early" to say anything, that they are talking to the deputies and inquiring into the status of the cat. If and when they find anything concrete, they'll release it.
Al-righty.
Crazy days.
UPDATE (2:00 p.m.): I just looked at Total Buzz, and they already had this item up about an hour ago.

Not too funny. Sadism seems to have been rampant in the Sheriff's Department for a long time. But torturing a cat? Let's hope not.
The kind of brain that could possibly think that's entertaining belongs behind bars - not on the public side of them.
