This just came in from the Jeff Miller for Assembly campaign:
Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle Endorses Jeff Miller for Assembly
ANAHEIM, CA -- Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle today endorsed Jeff Miller for Assembly in the 71st District primary election. Pringle joins with Congressman Ed Royce, Assemblyman Mike Duvall and several other prominent conservatives to give Miller an all-star cast of Orange County Republicans leading his campaign effort in the county.
"As a businessman and the Mayor of a fast growing city, Jeff Miller has always stood up for local taxpayers and worked to make government freedom-friendly and less costly. He will use that expertise and common sense in Sacramento," said Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle, the Former Republican Speaker of the Assembly.
Pringle's endorsement comes on the heels of several other major endorsements earned by Miller in recent weeks, including the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC, Congressman Dana Rohrabacher and Mission Viejo Councilman Frank Ury.
"Curt Pringle epitomizes what a Republican Mayor should be and I am proud to have his endorsement. It has been an honor working with him on issues that affect our part of California, and I look forward to continuing to work with him in the future," said Miller.
Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle was elected in November 2002 and re-elected in November 2006. Since he took office he has worked successfully to foster greater personal, entrepreneurial and corporate initiatives in the city. Pringle served in the California State Assembly from 1988-90 and again from 1992-98. He was elected Speaker of the California State Assembly in January 1996.
Jeff Miller is a businessman with deep roots in both Orange and Riverside Counties. He is a former County Republican Party Chairman and current Mayor of Corona.# # #
I didn't see that coming. Great pickup for Miller's team.

This one is big news. The so-called Riverside candidate Jeff Miller now has Royce, Rohrabacher, Duvall, Pringle and a small army of other locals in OC.
Blais's campaign is just falling apart. Maybe they can recycle the Richard Dixon press release? Will Spitzer be next?
This is hardly news considering the endorsement of the Major Republican Grassroots Organization that Neil rolled out yesterday. In a Republican primary I would take the Log Cabin Republican
( which is a group of rich businessman) over a local Mayor anytime.
Excuse me Landside but the wealthy business people are the Lincoln Club. The Log Cabin Club is a group of liberal homosexuals that promote gay adoption.
Do we have to be such a homophobic party? It is possible for a homosexual to believe in freedom, limited government, and fiscal responsibility.
We are all sinners. It's all too easy to point your finger at their sin, but that doesn't absolve us of our own. If you worship money or power, then you worship a false idol. Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.
The Log Cabin Republicans should probably become the Log Cabin Libertarians.
I'm not surprised that the mayor of the largest of 22 cities sharing a single animal shelter built in the 40's would go for the Corona mayor. With Anaheim's self-proclaimed stature, you would think they would be in the forefront of the efforts to upgrade basic services provided to their residents, prior to providing additional tax incentives to large developers.
I'd much rather have endorsements from Irvine, where their residents have a top-notch facility almost twice the size of the facility Anaheim uses, that's not even in Anaheim and services 10 times the population, plus charges higher fees.
"Pringle's endorsement comes on the heels of several other major endorsements earned by Miller in recent weeks, including the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC, Congressman Dana Rohrabacher and Mission Viejo Councilman Frank Ury."
Wait...aren't two of the three "major endorsements" dual endorsers?
9:30- Your issue in a Republican primary is animal shelters?
Mickey - Ask the candidates.
