CRLA ANNOUNCES ENDORSEMENTS IN OC JUDICIAL RACES
NEWPORT BEACH - After hosting the largest judicial candidates' forum in Orange County history, the California Republican Lawyers Association ("CRLA") has announced its list of judicial endorsements for the upcoming June primary election. Last Thursday, the CRLA hosted a candidate's forum at Chapman School of Law. Over 125 people and 11 Superior Court Judges were in attendance. The candidates were asked a series of questions from a panel of four local attorneys. After hearing from the candidates, the CRLA began the endorsement process.
After careful review by the endorsement committee and a unanimous vote of the Board of Directors, the CRLA issued the following endorsements:
Superior Court Office #4 - Nick Thompson - Deputy DA and Winner Bronze Star Iraq
Superior Court Office #8 - John Fish - Deputy DA
Superior Court Office #12 - Kermit Marsh - Mayor Pro Tem of Westminster
"We considered several factors during the process, most important of these factors were professionalism, experience and competence," stated Adam Abrahms, who chaired the endorsement committee. "We are looking for candidates who will be tough on crime, protect the rights of victims and will interpret the law, not create it. We believe the candidates we have endorsed embody what we are looking for in a judge," Abrahms continued.
The California Republican Lawyers Association is a statewide organization of Republican volunteer attorneys dedicated to protecting the election process from voter fraud; providing legal support to Republican office holders and candidates; promoting conservative causes like tort reform; and electing law-and-order judges to the bench. Currently, they represent 31 Republican Assembly members in a federal lawsuit to prevent the early release 50,000 dangerous felons.

Is "Mayor Pro Tem of Westminster" an elected office or is it awarded by the council on a rotating basis?
1. Adam Abrahms is not local.
2. Tough on crime pretty much excludes any NON D.A.
This was an exercise in rubber stamping Republican District Attorneys
Isn't Kermit Marsh the guy who screwed up the Reep nomination meeting?
If so, is this the looney we want as a judge? If he can't keep simple meeting rules straight, why would we want this person as a judge?
The leadership of the CRLW was behind the Debbie Cook lawsuit, one of the stupidest political moves in recent memory. Why anyone would want join this organization, who seems to be known mostly for losing ill-conceived lawsuits is beyond me.
