Orange County Comes Out Strong for Jeff Miller in AD71 -- Congressman Dana Rohrabacher and Conservative Activist Jim Righeimer EndorseUPDATE: It should be noted that Dana Rohrabacher is dual endorsing in this race, having already endorsed Neil Blais, as well.
Mission Viejo -- Republican Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (Orange County) and longtime Orange County conservative leader Jim Righeimer today endorsed Jeff Miller's campaign for Assembly. They join a rapidly expanding list of Orange County conservatives jumping on board the Miller campaign.
"Jeff Miller is a real conservative," said Righeimer. "And to me, what someone believes and what someone has done means a lot more than where someone lives."
Jim Righeimer has been a leader in conservative causes and organizations in Orange County for many years. He is a Planning Commissioner and a columnist for a local Orange County newspaper.
"I'm excited to have Congressman Rohrabacher and Jim Righeimer on my side," said Miller. "The support I am receiving from Orange County conservatives has been very gratifying."
Miller is the only candidate with deep personal and political roots in both Orange and Riverside Counties, having attended school and built a business in Orange and having entered public service in Riverside.
Rohrabacher and Righeimer join a growing list of Orange County conservatives who are backing Miller, including Congressman Ed Royce, Assemblyman Mike Duvall, Mission Viejo City Councilman John Paul Ledesma, and former Dana Point Councilman Jim Lacy.

Picking up Rohrabacher is solid, but it doesn't change Miller's shoddy record on property rights and taxes.
The voters will not fooled, Miller's sketchy record speaks volumes - louder than any endorsements.
Picking up Rohrabacher is good but he doesn't resonate in the district as well as Spitzer - Blais still has a significant advantage.
Miller is rolling through OC picking up support and running a sophisticated campaign with mailers and phone calls. And with Riggy and Dana on board, it looks like the Family Action folks won't be coming in for poor Neil.
It was a great weekend for the Blais camapign precinct walking in Corona. Met a lot of great high propensity republican voters and it was clear that Miller has lost a significant amount of support in his own city. The most common thread was that they were tired of all of the tax and fee increases.
Miller's liberal tax and spend habits appar to have come home to roost.
Miller is losing ground faster than he was before his mailers came out. These endorsements are pretty meaningless in the 71st, just like all of Miller's other OC endorsements. Blais has the endorsements of the people that the 71st voters respect. And that is showing strong in the voter outreach underway, where the rubber meets the road.
Don't be surprised if Spitzer dual endorses himself, due to lack of campaign activity from Blais and fact that most of OC is also jumping ship.
It doesn't happen very often but I have to concur with Been Around on this one.
It's a sad state of affairs, but it is what it is: Orange County did NOT produce good candidates for office this year. Neil Blais and Larry Dick are just NOT up to par with Jeff Miller and Curt Hagman.
It's not just my opinion. A lot of my colleagues also think that it's sad that we weren't able to field more competitive candidates for those bordering districts this year.
Righeimer endorsed Miller and has been seen escorting Hagman around at events. Smart of him.
Thats laughable.
It really doesn't matter what you and your colleagues think. It only matters what the voters think. And what they are saying is that Blais will work circles around Miller.
Spitzer will not be jumping ship. And you all will find that out soon enough. You haven't seen anything yet. As far as the "most of the OC jumping ship", try again. Compare the lists of all endorsements from the OC and it isn't even close. And not one has crossed over. If that were true, then Miller and Gilliard would have that on the street so fast that everyone would be spinning like a top.
The ugly truth for Miller is, he is finding out that he is losing this campaign, he has already blown a bunch of mail money for no result, while Blais is just now getting ready to roll.
Geez, you Blais supporters are almost as sensitive if not more sensitive than Mimi Walters supporters.
What my colleagues and myself think does matter as far as fundraising and community support is concerned, but you're right, the voters decide. Big DUH!
Come back to me on June 4th and let's finish this conversation then, ok?
Until then you may want to desert the blogs and go walk precincts. Neil Blais is going to need it.
More delusions from Team Blais. Other good ones from the past include:
1) I can't loose. I will take a loan against my home to finance campaign.
2) All of OC love ME!
3) The other county doesn't matter.
4) My council colleagues are brillant political masterminds.
Dana apparently dual endorsed.
On June 4th, me thinks the Miller pundits will only be having conversations with themselves. They will be askihng each other "What went wrong????"
Rohrabacher did duel endorsed.
Am I seeing things, or did I see a truck driving around today with a giant Blais sign on it?
Was "Vote for Harry" on the other side of it?
I have to finally admitted that Gary and Neil are running a top notch campaign. Even without an HQ they are ahead in the polls. The only thing that I could see getting them off track now would be to have one or two more Orange County local elected officials in the 71st throw their support to Miller in the say the next day or two. And theses could not be just run of the mill elected but well known movement conservatives. I mean what are the odds of that happening. Congrats Neil...it looks like you have won.
As a working Republican voter who is barly making it with gas at $4, I was disgusted to see that Neil Blais truck driving around today. I had heard that Blais was a rich Saudi oil guy and his driving around wasting gas just proves it. As a working man I am offended. Mr. Blais please stop wasting gas.
rsm voter- I do not believe you are a rsmvoter at all. I am and I have not seen any such truck yet and if I did so what. I will vote for Neil and so will my friends he has done a good job in our city. This Miller/Blais war on this blog is getting a little old as well as inmature and it needs to stop. If I were Neil I would tell a few of my blog friends to knock it off they sound like fools when they post.
Good luck Neil, but re-think some of the company you keep.
GOP Mom is the brightest in the Blais camp. Seriously, Neil, find out who she is and put her in charge. Give Powers a run for his money.
Mark- thanks but the Miller group is no better. I think the voters would rather see the issues debated than a blog war.I have seen enough from both sides to think Jeff might want to re-think a few of his blog buddies as well.
GOPMOM couldn't have said it better. Whatever happened to the issues?
