I called Dina Nguyen campaign factotum Truong Diep to find out what the deal was with this over-reporting of a campaign contribution.

According to Truong, it's a simple reporting error. The Dalat Supermarket contribution of $1,000 was reported as $1,600, and a $1,600 contribution (Truong thought it was from Travelodge Westminster HB) was under-reported as $1,000.

In other words, it was a transposition, but the total contributions amount is the same.

I was told Dina's campaign is hiring a professional campaign treasurer -- smart move, and something that should have been in place at the get-go.

So, this is another hiccup, or the beginning of something more?  Stay tuned and we'll find out.
