This came over the transom from the Dennis Mountjoy for Senate campaign:Month of March Proving to be Beneficial for Mountjoy.
Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association & CRA Endorse Mountjoy for 29th Senate District
Monrovia, California - Proving that a man's proven record speaks volumes over money in the bank, recent endorsements of former Assemblyman Dennis Mountjoy's bid for the 29th State Senate district show that momentum is building for Mountjoy and that he is the solid, true and proven conservative in the race.
Mountjoy comes off the heals of this past weekends endorsement from the conservative California Republican Assembly, the oldest GOP volunteer organization in California that President Ronald Reagan called "the conscience of the Republican Party."
The endorsement came after Mountjoy reminded delegates of the CRA's crucial role in primary races. "The CRA simply cannot afford to have it hands tied and voice silent in a crucial race such as this," Mountjoy said.
"It has never been CRA's nature to sit out a race when a proven conservative has run in. Being silent would give liberals and moderates in our party an opening to steal the ground that is ours. We cannot afford to let that happen."
Mountjoy added: "Do you want someone who will play nice and make deals with Democrats, or someone who will go to war with Democrats every day?!"
"CRA delegates understood the importance of endorsing someone who has been with them in the ranks for years," said Mountjoy campaign manager Ben Lopez. "The Mountjoy name is synonymous with conservative principles and conservative grass-roots activism. After all the candidates huff and puff about their so-called conservative credentials, the Republican activists on the ground know that it is Mountjoy that has been with them and that they can trust."
In addition to receiving the endorsement of the California Republican Assembly, Assemblyman Mountjoy received the endorsement of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC earlier this month.
"I am humbled and truly grateful for the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers endorsement," Mountjoy said. "In my years in the Assembly I never voted for a tax hike and never voted for a budget that was not truly balanced or relied on borrowing. I continue to make that same pledge if elected to the Senate. The hard working people of the 29th Senate District can rely on me to protect their hard earned tax dollars. But don't take my word for it, look at my record."

Wow, what an amazing show of support from the conservative movement to the Mountjoy family.
Huff is going to need to outspend Mountjoy on a 3 to 1 just to have a shot of winning this thing.
"...an amazing show of support...?"
That's crazy.
As the attached article from today's SG Valley Trib attests, it took Mountjoy three ballots and a sleight of hand from Peggy Mew to "win" the endorsement. And...there were only 40 people who voted.
Mountjoy is an embarrassment. He should do the GOP a huge favor by going back to whatever cave he came from and just disappear from politics.
HUFF TO FIGHT ENDORSEMENT LOSS
Former Assemblyman Dennis Mountjoy has received the endorsement from the California Republican Assembly for the 29th state Senate District.
But his opponent, Assemblyman Bob Huff, is vowing to challenge it at the state convention because of a possible missing ballot in the count.
Mountjoy won on a 26-13 vote over Huff at the group's endorsement caucus March 22 in Pasadena. But there were supposed to be 40 ballots cast.
The vote came on the third round of ballots. In the previous two, neither candidate received the two-thirds vote needed for an endorsement of what is considered to be the conservative wing of the Republican Party.
The two candidates are seeking the seat being vacated by termed-out state Sen. Bob Margett, R-Glendora.
"I thought they should have cast another ballot," Huff said. "There were 40 ballots requested and only 39 cast. It was Dennis' staff doing the counting and one ballot disappeared."
Huff was referring to Peggy Mew, Mountjoy's campaign treasurer and membership secretary for the California Republican Assembly.
Mew said she was in the room, but had nothing to do with the ballot count.
The state convention, which will be held April 25-27 in Costa Mesa, will have a chance to discuss what happened and make a decision, said Mike Spence, the CRA president.
I guess when you don't get the CRA endorsement, you blame Peggy Mew.
Sounds like Peggy Mew was in the middle of two controversial endorsement votes. And if Mountjoy's staff was counting the ballots on this one, how did the CRA let that happen? Mike Spence needs to take a hard look at this. There is clearly a potential process problem here, and conicidental association with both votes and the same person being involved should be a red flag to the CRA about their process.
What's funny is that Huff even thought about going for the endorsement.
He'll probably have worse luck on the state level where he doesn't have the ability to create local chapters and supply delegants in any significant number. I wouldn't expect a northern california CRA member to vote against a Moutnjoy.
CRA is becoming a joke in the vote process that happened in the endorsement caucus in Pasadena few weeks ago.
Mountjoy is also the man who got the endorsement from "Carpetbagger" "Living off the Taxpayer dime" Senator McClintock.
Clearly, Mountjoy is an embrassment for the Republican party.
Mountjoy name means "causing trouble in Sacramento". Why don't his old dad and himself go back to the cave?
Obviously, I take Huff over Mountjoy anyday.
Matt.
Perhaps you might read the exchange between Peggy Mew and myself that appears on the Orange Juice blog. Two thirds of 40 is 27 not 26 votes. While 14 credentialed members claim to have voted for Bob Huff apparently one of their ballots has mysteriously disappeared in the third ballot count resulting in this bogus endorsement.
Howard Jarvis dual endorsed Huff and Mountjoy, so that was no big deal.
At the last filing, Huff had a 70 to 1 cash-on-hand advantage over Mountjoy: $422,000 to $6,000. Mountjoy will be wishing he was outspent 3 to 1!
As far as the CRA vote, Peggy might not have been counting the votes, but she was holding them when Team Huff approached the table to question the results. Even if she didn't count them, Monrovia Republican Assembly people (read Mountjoy loyalists) did. The Greater Pasadena Republican Assembly was not allowed to vote either, and they should have been. That case will be made convincingly at the state convention.
