Prediction Contest: Which OC GOP Central Committee Member Will Spitzer Knock Out?
Posted by: Jubal | 03/06/2008 4:18 PM
Since all six incumbent committee members for the 71st Assembly District are also running for re-election, the only question is which one will Todd knock off?
Here are the incumbents:
- Acting Sheriff Jack J. Anderson
- Mark W. Bucher
- Irvine Councilman Steven Choi
- Marcia Gilchrist
- Rancho Santiago Community College Trustee Phil Yarbrough
- Public Administrator/Southh Orange County Community College Trustee John Williams
And so readers, enter your prediction as too which AD71 Central Committee member will go down to make way for Todd.
UPDATE (5:06 p.m..): A commenter corrected me, pointing out that Jack Anderson's ballot title isn't incumbent, but "Orange County Assistant Sheriff."
Frankly, I'm not sure that's the best ballot title these days.

Please pay attention to Jack Anderson's ballot title. He listed Orange County Assitant Sheriff and while that is true, it is more than the 3-word limit set by law.
Only incumbent elected officials can use their full title, and Mr. Anderson is not an elected official.
Just a thought, not sure if anyone will bother challenging.
"Orange County" counts as 1 word.
What I cant figure out is why is Spitzer running for Central Committee in the first place?
These other candidates remind me of the campers out in the forest being chased by the bear. The question for the individual camper is not whether they can out run the bear, but whether they can out run just one other camper.
As "one of the campers" I guess that the one that the bear gets is the one who draws a bad ballot position. The candidate on the top of the ballot and the one on the bottom usually get elected. It is a crap shoot.
Marcia Gilchrist
This is a tough call. Based on the make up of the 71st AD I respectfully think that Steve Choi of Irvine will be the odd person out.
It appears Yarbrough didn't return his papers, so I guess Spitzer will just nab his open seat instead of knocking an incumbent out.
