Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association Endorses Mimi Walters for Senate
LAKE FOREST, CA -- The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC has endorsed Mimi Walters for State Senate. Assemblywoman Walters is the leading Republican candidate for the 33rd Senate District.
"Taxpayers know Mimi Walters is the stand-up conservative we can trust to protect taxpayers and private property rights. Mimi is one of our best friends in the State Legislature and one of the strongest voices in Sacramento for common sense budgets and smaller government. We need to keep her working for California's taxpayers," said Jon Coupal, President of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association.
"The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association is the leading taxpayer advocate in California and I'm honored to have the group's endorsement," stated Walters. "Fighting against tax increases and preserving private property rights are absolute priorities and I'm deeply committed to these causes."
The HJTA is dedicated to the protection of Proposition 13 and the advancement of taxpayers' rights, including the right to limited taxation and the right to vote on tax increases.
The Jarvis group joins the California Republican Assembly, Republican Congressman Ed Royce, Republican Congressman John Campbell, State Senator Dick Ackerman, Assemblyman Mike Duvall and other leading conservatives in strongly supporting Mimi Walters for Senate.
That's a strong pickup.

Another BIG BIG endorsement for Walters! Howard Jarvis is a highly recognizable political force. There's no contesting that.
She. Will. Go. All. The. Way.
Didn't HJTA endorse McGill over Silva in the 67th AD last cycle? This even though McGill had voted to support lowering the 2/3 threshold for raising certain taxes to 55%.
Mimi has got to be the favorite in part because of the strong endorsements from sitting legislators, but I'm not so sure how strong Coupal's endorsement is in this race.
This is a nice endorsement and Mimi deserves it. However, there are two deal breakers for my vote. Mimi voted against letting charities hold casino night events. Frank Mickadeit has written about this in the past. Also, Mimi is a staunch opponent of DeVore's industrial hemp bill.
I know that the charity deal is water under the bridge and that some legislation permitting casino nights was ultimately passed. But, the hemp bill has not. With the drought, higher fertilizer costs for the farmers, etc. this is a huge deal to me. I will not vote for someone who will not permit farmers the freedom to farm what is a great dry weather crop.
To Primary Republican Voters, HJTA is huge. The Silva example is a bad one because Silva just overwhelmed McGill dollar for dollar and McGill had little oppotunity to tout the endorsement.
Is it true Ms Walters husband is involved with penny stock companies that are trading near zero?
