Filing Deadline Extended In AD60 and AD73

This came over the transom a little while ago from the OC Registrar of Voters:

Extension of Candidate Filing Period for the Statewide Direct Primary Election

Santa Ana, CA March 7, 2008 - The Registrar of Voters announced today that the nomination period has been extended until March 12, 2008, 5:00 p.m. for the offices listed below, because the incumbents failed to file nomination papers by the March 7, 2008 deadline.

Any qualified person, other than the incumbent, can now file the declaration of candidacy papers until March 12, 2008, 5:00 p.m., in the office of the Registrar of Voters, 1300-C South Grand Avenue, Santa Ana, California. Business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

For further information, call the Registrar of Voters office at 714-567-7600 and ask for the "Candidate & Voter Services Section."

CONTESTS THAT HAVE HAD THE CANDIDATE FILING EXTENDED

    * 60th State Assembly District
    * 73rd State Assembly District
