This just came over the transom from the Neil Blais for Assembly campaign:
Miller Fundraising Drying Up as Word about His $3 million Corona Scandal Spreads
(MISSION VIEJO, CA) -- Two weeks ago, Jeff Miller opened his campaign by launching a negative attack against GOP front-runner Neil Blais. But, it was quickly discovered that 'going negative' was Miller's only option in order to hide the fatal scandal in his own background - one that cost Corona taxpayers more than $3 million.
Now, for the first time, there's proof that Miller's fundraising is drying up as donors begin to weigh the consequences of Miller's record on the City Council, one that led the Riverside Press Enterprise to strongly recommend against Miller's re-election to the Council:"Incumbent Miller's willingness to compromise a public office for private gain - and then fight to conceal public records - should disqualify him from a second term."As a result of this scandal, Miller's fundraising continues to fall, according to the latest FPPC reports where his Cash on Hand is just over $160K - among the lowest in the state. After removing debt and non-spendable general election money, that total falls to below $150K.Press Enterprise 10/28/2004
"Corona taxpayers are still digging out from the three million dollars it cost them," said Blais Spokesman Bill Cizmadia. "And the email traffic from Miller at the time is simply devastating. It's no wonder donors are no longer willing to bet on his future."
At the time, the Press Enterprise also wrote:"The city's failed takeover of Edison's facilities cost taxpayers $ 3 million, and eroded confidence in local officials. At the same time, two councilmen, Jeff Miller and Darrell Talbert, launched a utility consulting business that improperly mingled their roles as city officials and private entrepreneurs - then fought in court to conceal public documents about the scheme."And, Miller's own email traffic included phrases such as:Press Enterprise 10/28/2004"How are you going to explain it when you go to jail? Delete this email.""I've never seen anything quite like this scandal, and it certainly pushes the envelope of the public trust," concluded Blais strategist Tim Clark.Email from Jeff Miller, 6/23/2002

Holy Light Socket Batman! Could it be true? That Miller is just a plain old deceitful crook?
"I did not have XXX with that light bulb"
Where are all the Miller supporters? Cat got your tongues? You must all be pretty embarrassed by the fact that your boy has now been exposed for what he really is. A common fraud.
I can't wait to see how this is going to unfold.
Don't get your hopes up Neil - - after this so-called "scandal" Jeff Miller was re-elected with the most votes ever in the City of Corona.
Well Don't Get Your Hopes Up, I guess Corona voters reap what they sow. Orange County voters are smarter than that to elect someone that has shown such fiscal irresponsibility toward his city for his own private gain.
This type of stuff may fly in the Inland Empire, but not in the OC.
According to Tim's own formula, Jeff has three times cash on hand than Neil. So how can he have the least cash on hand in the state?
Neil, being true to form is a complete fraud.
I don't know much about Riverside County but isn't Former Assemblyman "law and order" Rod Pacheco the District Attorney? It would seem to me that he would be the first to put Miller behind bars if a crime was committed.
Was Miller ever prosecuted?
Wow, I knew Miller had skeletons in his closet but I didn't know they were this bad. This is some serious stuff.
I heard a rumor that Miller set up an energy consulting firm during all of this and was attempting to sell "his" services to other cities. Anyone know if thats true?
Now here, "for the first time" -- WHAT A JOKE. These old charges were printed in the newspaper in 2004, before Miller was re-elected to the City Council by a historic majority. He must be doing something right.
Whats the joke? That Miller actually thought he could run for Assembly and not have his scandals exposed?
Disgusting - Jeff Miller trying to do something to lower electric rates. I bet this was about the same time Neil was doing something really important like regulating the color of the trash cans in the City / HOA of RSM
I just want to remind everyone that I still endorse Neil Blais for Assembly because he shares my values and ethics.
Leave it to Phil Paule to try and defend the indefensible.
