That's right Speedy. Huge news with a smoking gun and what do we have here and the OC party as a whole? The sound of silence. That's the problem with our party. Don't own up, have Schroeder speak for Carona, have Probolsky speak for Anderson. The lemmings in the committee duck for cover. It then hits the fan and the entire Republican party for the County is holding the bag. Way to go guys. The problem now can only get worse and it will.

It is unfortunate Orange County had a corrupt Sheriff. Just as unfortunate is that such people have enablers and henchmen who do not get to share in the public humiliation they deserve.

What about all those people who KNEW Carona was corrupt and continued to support him, endorse him, speak for him, consult for him, and write glowing accolades about him? Their judgment should be questioned. Their reputations should be damaged. Aren't they complicit (not necessarily in a legal sense) for foisting this scoundrel on an unsuspecting public?

Who are these people, these shills who promoted Carona, not for the public good, but for reasons of self-interest and personal profit? Really... who are they?

I suspect most of these folks are Republicans. But they should still be called out so we can consider their poor judgment and take their future endorsements with a very large grain of salt.

I posted this to further encourage people to just read the document themselves. No need to have a blogger or a journalist read it for you and offer a filtered interpretation.

Just read it yourself and draw your own conclusions. As the case progresses, there will be plenty of time for analysis.

Whenever someone says later there will be time for analysis, really means they don't want to air out their dirty laundry. Fess up and admit you were wrong to back this criminal and back a new person who has integrity not some party hack.

Shame on you all! In America everyone has a right to a fair trial before a judge. We don’t have all the facts yet. It is for a jury of his peers and a judge to determine his guilt. This is a rush to judgment bla bla bla pap pap pap drivel drivel.

Where’s the apology from all the knucklehead Corona Defenders who lambasted activists that called on him to resign before a trial? If everyone kept quiet about criticizing “America’s Sheriff” now would it be okay to call on him to step down?

How about someone in the ‘Bully’ Corona camp offer an apology to their fellow Republican activists like John Moorlach who asked Corona to step down when all the charges came forward.

As I recall, Red County's writers, particularly Matt Cunningham, were major cheerleaders for Carona during his last campaign. Will any of them be apologizing now that it is 100% obvious that Carona was guilty - just as OC Weekly, and may local bloggers (such as myself and Allan Bartlett) has been saying forever?

As I recall, OC Weekly also supported Carona in 1998.

Oh for God's sake, you sound like a bunch of finger-pointing 6th graders. Carona brought whatever he will get upon himself with a handful of inside fellow "participants" in his schemes. That the majority of the OCRP couldn't know about it would be presumed. Do you think they would risk their reputations to support someone they would suspect was a crook? No, and neither would you. Those that supported him probably believed in him as an honest, "America's Sheriff" good guy. From all the hype in the papers (which now condemn him) I liked the guy too. Did I know what he was up to behind the scenes? No. Neither did most of everyone else or he could not have continued those practices for as long as he did.

Quit laying blame at the feet of "those who supported him" and just let the wheels of justice work. Can't anything happen here without it being a dogfight?
