Fox News Calls California For McCain

Well, Fox News has just called California for John McCain. I voted for Mitt Romney, but congratulations to the McCain campaign for a great Super Tuesday.
It'll be interesting to see what the delegate count is once everything is tallied, but I think one can expect the pressure to begin ratcheting up on Romney to undergo an agonizing reappraisal of his campaign.

So if Romney steps aside, shouldn't Huckabee do the same now that his work is over?
I said so on this blog three days ago. Better to go with the guy who can win, even if you only agree with him 80% of the time, than the guy you agree with 90% of the time, but can't win. For better or worse, appears most California Republicans agree.
Time to get together and prevent Hillary from getting the White House.

Didn't you get the memo. No whining in politics.
Romney is a fundamentally bad candidate. The voters never lie. They rejected his fake conversion to conservative principles.
Romney needs to drop out and put the party first. He needs to stop behaving like a spoiled rich kid.
Looking to me like McCain will take all the CA delegates. McCain looks to be carrying every District in the state in the 40-50% range against Romney's 20-30% range.

Do you have a link to see those results?
Not whining. Isn't it odd that there is talk Romney will gracefully exit during his speech at CPAC on Thursday because there is decreasingly a dim path on his road to the White House. In contrast, there simply is no path to the White House for Mike Huckabee and yet he continues on. To what end is Huckabee serving? VP?

What an awesome night! This is a landslide victory for John McCain. On to St. Paul baby!!!
Art Pedroza,
Who looks like an ass now?!
1:22,
Your party does. I would not celebrate McCain's victory. The guy disagrees with most GOP principles, which is pretty funny.
I might still support him if Hillary is the candidate for the Democrats, but if Obama prevails I will vote for him before I will vote for McCain.
An Obama victory will give you Republicans four years to develop better candidates. I mean seriously, Romney, McCain and Huckabee are the best you could do? What a joke!
"An Obama victory will give you Republicans four years to develop better candidates."
Make that 8 years.
Redperegrine,
Your comment does remind me of something I thought about. Given that McCain is 72, I wonder if he would be up for a second term. That would give Republicans another chance in 4 years. That is the one positive I see in a McCain victory.
I had high hopes that Tom McClintock would become Governor and could make a run for the presidency. But that has not happened. And as much as I hate to say it, when I saw him at Fred Thompson's event he was starting to look a little old. We have to get McClintock some national exposure. He would make a great president. I love to hear him speak.
