Bruce Herschensohn On Why Conservatives Should Support McCain

I had the privilege of interviewing one of my conservative heroes, yesterday: Bruce Herschensohn. Bruce is a man of principle and integrity, and the purpose of the interview was to give him the opportunity to pitch his reasons why his fellow conservatives should vote for Sen. John McCain for President (and muchas gracias to Jon Fleischman of the FlashReport for manning the UnSteadiCam):

Sorry- still not sold.

I like Bruce, but that was so weak.
I would like some specifics. What is McCain's plan for Afghanistan? Is Bruce only talking about Iraq? If he is only talking about Iraq, why is he so focused on that?
He talks about Benazir Bhutto, but Ron Paul is the only candidate advocating what Mrs. Bhutto advocated which was to stop supporting dictators because the only thing it does is increase Al Qaeda recruitment.
If we want to win the war in Afghanistan I think the only way to do that is to end the war on drugs. There is no way in hell McCain would do that so I am left to conclude that McCain does not want to win the war on terror.
Our allies are cutting their military budgets because we are going it alone. Is it a good long term strategy to have weak allies?
If there was a real risk for a total take over by the Mullahs in the US, why is Ron Paul the only one who talks about really securing the borders and bringing troops home to defend the US.
Bruce, I hate to say it, but I think you have developed a fear psychosis.
But maybe my love of freedom has given me a psychosis and I am the one who is out to lunch.
But the way I see it, Ron Paul is the only rational vote on Tuesday.
Bruce Herschensohn, "a man of principle and integrity?" Isn't he the same guy who frequented a Sunset Boulevard strip club during his 1992 campaign for Senate.
Dan, I just knew you'd be the one to pop up with that bit of sleaze.
May I recommend an emergency transfusion of class?
Yesterday two Tranies - Andy Quach and Dina Nguyen - took Bruce Herchensohn around Little Saigon for a media tour.
Where are the Romney folks?
For the same reason McCain wasn't in Salt Lake City. I think everyone is going after undecided voters. Not those locked up.
Are you saying that the Vietnamese voters are going to vote for John McCain? I'm not too sure about that, but if the Tranies are campaigning for the guy without oppositions from the Romney folks, then it's over.
Are you sure that Quach and Nguyen weren't just on a date and invited Bruce along for a tour of Little Saigon?
I thought Quach was a better conservative than to support McCain.
So while Janet is handing out $100,000 in county taxpayer funds for AN ANTEATER EXHIBITat Santa Ana Zoo, Garden Grove Councilwoman Dina Nguyen is working with conservative leaders to support the eventual Republican nominee.
I can tell you who I would rather have as Supervisor.
Truth hurts; don't worry, I'm sure you'll make up for it with some Bill Clinton smack later.
Dan:
You labor under the misperception that fact and truth are interchangeable. What "truth" are you purporting to present?
This is from he NY Times:
THE 1992 CAMPAIGN; California Candidate Accused of Frequenting a Nude Bar
Bruce Herschensohn, the Republican senatorial candidate who is an outspoken critic of Federal funds for art that he considers pornographic, has been accused by Democratic officials of frequenting a Hollywood nude bar. Mr. Herschensohn acknowledged going to the nude bar once last year, with a female companion and another couple. The latest poll showed him and Barbara Boxer, the Democratic candidate, in a virtual tie.
Pretty cut and dry when Herschensohn admitted it.
Very good, Dan.
Now, from there, explain how that means Bruce is not a man of principle and integrity.
And before you try to use the pornographic art part, realize that Bruce is against federal funding of the arts, period.
I have known Bruce since he worked in the Nixon White House. Bruce was my neighbor in Foggy Bottom during that time.
I have always known him to be an honorable man.
I am a Democrat, but that made no difference to Bruce. I always found him to be honest and optimistic, an honorable conservative.
