Another press release from the Neil Blais for Assembly campaign:
POPULAR ORANGE COUNTY SUPERVISOR JOHN MOORLACH ENDORSES NEIL BLAIS FOR ASSEMBLYAt this point, I am not sure how importance an endorsement is to the campaign anymore, and it applies to both Blais and Jeff Miller. In my opinion, Blais already got all the endorsements that is useful to his campaign: Todd Spitzer, the District Attorney and Bill Campbell. All the other outside the district names won't mean much to the voters of AD 71.
(Orange) - Coming on the heels of an announcement of support from Supervisor Chris Norby, today Orange County Supervisor and Board Chairman John Moorlach added his endorsement to Neil Blais' campaign for the open 71st Assembly District - providing Blais with endorsements from 4 of the 5 Orange County Supervisors.
"Neil Blais is a proven conservative who will protect taxpayers," said Supervisor Moorlach, who also previously served 12 years as Orange County's Treasurer-Tax Collector. "Neil Blais' plan to return surplus city revenues back to taxpayers is a model for how government should treat taxpayer dollars. I am confident Neil will fight for a leaner, more efficient government and he will oppose any attempt to raise taxes. I am proud to support him."
Supervisor Moorlach joins a growing list of Blais supporters, including Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas, 71st Assembly District Incumbent Todd Spitzer, Senate Republican Leader Dick Ackerman, OC Supervisor Pat Bates, OC Supervisor Bill Campbell, OC Supervisor Chris Norby, Former Superintendent of Public Instruction Marian Bergeson, Family Action PAC, ATLAS PAC, and over 30 Mayors and Council Members, among dozens of others.
Last month, Neil Blais began his 2nd term as Rancho Santa Margarita Mayor, where he announced his intention to push for a tax rebate program to return surplus funds to taxpayers. Rancho Santa Margarita has been considered a model city in South County.
As a respected member of the Rancho Santa Margarita City Council, Neil has earned a reputation for being a tough fiscal watchdog and champion of conservative causes. Neil is also a fixture in the Orange County Republican Party, where he served for four years as the representative on the 71st District Central Committee and is currently a member of the Orange County Lincoln Club.
In addition, Neil was also a member on the Rancho Santa Margarita cityhood committee and played an integral role in RSM's incorporation.

Neil
You just lost the law enforcement vote !!
Good endorsement Neil. There is no question that John is a person who has no problem putting forth creative ideas to fix government. Not every one may agree with him on some of his intiatives, but he at least has the courage to try and fix a broken system. He is also a good fiscal conservative. And because of both of those reasons, this endorsement speaks volumes to the fiscal conservative base of the 71st District.
Tomahawk,
I hate to disagree, but you and I both know Moorlach is the most influential and popular Republican in Orange County. This endorsement is worth 5% to 7% of the vote on top of what the campaign does on its own.
Neil will be very tough to catch.
