AD71 Watch: Irvine Councilman Choi Endorses Blais

This just came over the transom from the Neil Blais for Assembly campaign:

Irvine Council Member Dr. Steven Choi Endorses Neil Blais for Assembly

(Orange) - Today, Irvine Council Member Steven Choi endorsed Neil Blais for the open 71st Assembly District.  Choi had previously been a candidate for this seat until he announced his withdrawal from the race last month. 

"Neil Blais will help bring about good ethics, honesty, and integrity to state government," said Council Member Dr. Choi.  "I trust Neil Blais to fight for taxpayers, and I will be proud to have him representing me in the Assembly." 

Council Member Choi is a respected Republican leader in Orange County, and his support comes on the heels of the announcement of support by Irvine Councilwoman Christina Shea.  They both join Supervisors John Moorlach, Chris Norby, Bill Campbell and Pat Bates, along with OC Senator Dick Ackerman, and OC Assembly Members Todd Spitzer and Jim Silva in supporting Blais. 

Last month, Neil Blais began his 2nd term as Ranch Santa Margarita Mayor, where he announced his intention to push for a tax rebate program to return surplus funds to taxpayers. Rancho Santa Margarita has been considered a model city in South County.
