Taking The Paper-less Office To An Extreme

> Lost amidst the hubbub over botched early endorsement votes and the abundance of 1st Supe District candidates sur-named Nguyen is the matter of the off-budget staff position loaned to Sup. Janet Nguyen's office.
Sup. Chris Norby first raised the issue in mid-December. It received extensive coverage in the OC blogosphere (here, here, here and here) but was pretty much ignored by the print media.
Fortunately, Chris Prevatt over at TheLiberalOC.com has continued pursuing the issue and making public records requests of the County CEO's office in hopes of uncovering some straight-forward answers. Chirs posted his latest update on the matter yesterday, and it's a doozy:

No record? That is pretty tough to swallow.
Or, it is a case of such extreme parsing that only communications Nguyen and Mauk -- and not between Nguyen's office and the CEO's office -- are being considered as "responsive" to Chris's request.
Chris has much more in his post about how the explanations he's getting from the county don't add up. It's worth everyone's time to read, and for the rest of the OC blogosphere to help Chris follow up.

I asked a series of straight-forward follow-up questions of Ms. Markley in the CEO's office. Basically, I asked to see any paperwork, electronic or written, regarding the assignment of HCA Staff to Janet Nguyen's office. The response was beyond credibility:

No record? That is pretty tough to swallow.

No one commenting, Matt! I guess it's easier for us readers to put in our dos centavos about Janet's appearance than it is to think about an issue of real substance like Chris has.
Where's Britney Spears when we really need her?
I am not a Janet supporter either, BUT I think your comments about her NOT being Vietnamese is totally irrelevant. What does that have to do with being a Supervisor? If Dina's supporters are anything like you, I think the public should think twice about supporting her. Your comments did more harm than good. So please, keep your racial slurs to yourself.
Dina cares about people unlike Janet
DINA NGUYEN is not a racist unlike Janet who is evil
My point is made. Easier to call names and make foolish generalizations than to look into something substantive like playing Hide the Budget Salami.
Too bad Heath Ledger isn't from OC. If he was, the OC Blog commenters would be having a field day today.
I wanted to make sure you all were able to find this and read this post as it was posted at the bottm of a 50+ comment string in the above items. it details that janet Nguyen has in fact been considering switching registration from Republican to Democrat and almost did it just before Joe Dunn announced that he was not going to run.
Janet nearly switched before that bombshell was dropped. however, she is still considering it in order to stave off any serious challenge by the Democrats and Unions since there are Democratic Vietnamese and GOP Vietnamese candidates in the fray now. she somehow thinks this will be her saving grace by appealing to the Dems o support an incumbant since she cannot get the GOP support.
I can attest to the fact that Janet has been having conversations about switching parties from Republican to Democrat.
Ever since Janet has been on the BOS she has been non-stop soliciting Wiley Aitkin for donations and Endorsements.
Additionally, Janet has taken donations from Teamsters Local 952, Treasurer Secretary Patrick D Kelly and I think also Nick Bernardino head of the Orange County employees Association OCEA.
Janet is backed into a corner and she will do anything, sell out on anyone, say anything, and take anything from anyone to save her political career. She cannot be trusted by either the GOP or The Dems. She needs to be retired by a serious challenge from a serious GOP or Democratic candidate.
Anon 3:35, you are more than absolutely correct! That's why we all need to support Garden Grove City Councilwoman DINA NGUYEN for Orange County Supervisor of the first District because Dina will NOT take money from the unions because the unions suck unlike the incumbent Janet who sells out constantly just so she can get ahead in politics even to unions which don't like Dina because she thinks they are evil just like the incumbent lady janet who is evil. Dina is also a good republican unlike the incumbent lady Janet who is debating about switching over to the democrats which is something Dina would never do that, and that's why Dina would be much better supervisor than the incumbent lady janet because Dina is better!!! Vote Dina in June of 2008 because Dina can get things done, I think!
So she's going to switch to the Dems after she has the overwhelming support of the Lincoln Club and after she gets endorsed by the Central Committee in March? Not to mention the endorsements she already has from Hon. Ed Royce, Sen. Ackerman, Scott Baugh and Hon. Jim Silva, just to name a few.
Yea, that sounds like a winning strategy. You really ought to spend more time outside in the fresh air rather than spewing ridiculous drivel like that on your computer all day TD.

From what I read in the post you are responding to and from what i have observed from Janet, I am assuming that she realizes that the support she is getting from the few GOPers is not enough to win her seat again. I am betting that she is going to juice her donors for all that she can before she switches teams and then juices that side for donations.
I used to be a janet Supporter. But Now i wont support her. I am not supporting any of the other candidates for her spot yet but i may do later.
Janet has lost me as a supoprter because of her behavior after being elected to this office. I am waiting for one more insult from her in order to go and support one of her opponents.
I used to a supporter and a friend. because of janets behavior while in office, I am no longer a supporter, and i am n o longer a friend. One more insult from her and I will be her enemy.
Anon4:31, I agree. That is why we have to elect the very Honorable Garden Grove City Councilwoman DINA NGUYEN to the Orange County position of Orange County Supervisor from the 1st District of the Board of Supervisors in Orange County because the incumbent lady doesn't have supporters because she misbehaves in office and that is why Janet doesn't have any friends because they have all become Dina's friends because they dont like Janet because of her misbavoir unlike Dina who DOES NOT misbehave while in office unlike the incumbent lady janet and that's why Dina is going to win!!!!!!!
Dina Nguyen Supporter:
Im not sure if I will support Dina or not. All I do know is that I will no longer support or vote for Janet. At the end of filing we will all know for sure who is in the race and we can choose our candidates at that time.
Currently, I would vote for a cantelope before I voted for Janet.
Anon632, you MUST support the very Honorable Garden Grove City Councilwoman DINA NGUYEN for the Supervisor office of Supervisor of Orange County of the First District of Orange County Supervisor because you have to since the incumbent lady is not going to win and Trung isn't either because Dina is going to have a broad base of support from a lot of people unlike Trung or the incumbent lady since no one lieks the incumbent lady or Trung because that's why Dina is going to win!!!!!
Dina is a lightweight, she has no experience, very incompetent and most importantly, she has no moral standards. Her involvement with Andy Quach doesn't help her career move one bit. She's hoping to bank on his notoriety but she's very wrong on this call. Besides, Quach's girlfriend (commissioner RC) is a very active member of this community, she's well liked by many and appreciated by countless charity organizations so with Dina breaking up this couple is so wrong.
