Grand Jury Casts Vote of Confidence in Orange County Election Process
Santa Ana, CA January 25, 2008 - The Orange County Grand Jury released its report this week regarding Orange County's election process. They determined that Orange County voters can trust the election safeguards put in place by the Registrar of Voters.
The Grand Jury wanted to ensure that the Registrar of Voters office was taking care of any privacy, security and accuracy issues with the voting system that came out of the top-to-bottom review commissioned by the California Secretary of State, Debra Bowen.
"We have worked diligently with the Secretary of State's office to ensure that we are complying with the certification regulations," said Neal Kelley, Registrar of Voters. "We are pleased that the Grand Jury issued a vote of confidence for the Department and we continue our daily planning for the upcoming Presidential Primary Election," he continued.
The Presidential Primary Election will be conducted on February 5, 2008. To read the Grand Jury report you may visit their website www.ocgrandjury.org or click the link at the left.
