Nguoi Viet Daily Faces Criticism For Questionable Use of Picture

Don't ask me what the picture is because even my Vietnamese source couldn't figure out exactly why the hardcore anti-communist activists were demonstrating in front of the Nguoi Viet Daily News for the second day now. According to these demonstrators, the Nguoi Viet Daily printed a picture of the Vietnamese Cultural and Heritage Flag in its Lunar New Year Special Edition. However, what got them angry was the manner in which the flag was depicted. If I remember correctly, this is the second year in a row that the Nguoi Viet Daily News faces criticism over its lunar new year edition. Last year, people burned copies of the newspaper outside of the Nguoi Viet's office located in Westminster because of a simple poem that was somehow misinterpreted as pro-communist due to a hidden meaning.
If you're not familiar with the Vietnamese community, this is probably very absurd to you, but in Little Saigon, they're very fanatic about this issue, especially those of the older generation. Just look at Viet Weekly, after 4 consecutive months of demonstrations, this magazine hardly around anymore in Little Saigon. Its dwindling loyal readers have to actively seek out the few remaining "underground" stores that still sell the magazine only at a personal request. Even the office building that houses Viet Weekly is negatively affected by the daily protest on Main Street.
I guess you can say that this is America so the newspapers can print whatever they want and the people can protest whenever they see fit, provided that the police is properly notified.

Why don't you post a link to the picture so people can decide for themselves if the protest is justified.
The Vietnamese kids should take a look at why the older generation gets so upset about these types of things ... maybe they'll learn something.
It's a pedicure washing bowl (to wash your dirty feet). Here is the link:
