It's called infrastructure- and projects that improve the infrastructure in Santa Ana are both needed and helpful. With a City Council that can't even figure out how to stream their City Council meetings on the internet, I can't trust that they are helping out the normal people like me who call Santa Ana home. All they want is to extend their term limits so they can live off of my taxpayer money. I can read about what my Supervisor is doing and it's been a long time since the County put Santa Ana in the same place in line as Irvine. I have been to the Santa Ana Zoo- families that can't afford to live near the beach enjoy it greatly. Janet has a vision for our area that will come true, and I say "que bueno!"

Why is Tomahawk getting emails from democrats like Jose Solorio, when he continues to rip on incumbent republicans? Perhaps, he is connected to the dems somehow? I know there has to be some connection to him and that Maddison Nguyen (a democrat) from San Jose... something smells fishy...

The Solorio e-mail will have legs. Consider its probable political future:

1) Will be used AGAINST Janet by Republicans slamming her for pork barrel politics;

2) Will be used BY Janet when she runs against Solorio for Correa's Senate seat; nothing better in politics than sweet nothings from your opponent;

3) Will be used BY foam at the mouth talk show radio hosts, late night comedians, THawk, and the Dark Lord and fellow travelers as an example of rotten pork, the OC's version of the bridge to no where;

4) Will be used AS an example of situational stupidity; a $100,000 public fund grant for an anteater exhibit may draw yawns and even some good ink in good economic and budget times. In times of $14 billion state budget deficits, increased unemployment, rising number of foreclosures and homeless folk behind the Orange Curtain, one might legitimately ask "Is the person who advised Janet and Jose on this issue the same person that advised Mike Dukakis to take a tank ride with a helmet on?"

Tomahawk can have his/her opinion, but what do you say about Jane't spoiled pork on Antreaters in Santa Ana, of all places !?

It's an investment for the district. Janet has done her job very well in lobbying for money from both the state, and in getting money from the county, to help invest in street repair and various other projects within her district. A little extra money on the side for the district is fantastic! Sadly, there is no pleasing the opposition.

If Janet wasn't lobbying to invest money into the district they'd still attack her for not doing her job. To be honest, I think she's going to do what she needs to do in order to do her job well, regardless of what pathetic staffers for Van Tran have to say.

If Janet was securing funding for surface street paving, I would actually commend her, but some dinky exhibit is not exactly useful nor appropriate under this economic climate.

Surely there is a lot of more important stuff we can do with $100,000 than spending it on some art exhibit.

As for Dina Nguyen, she's a lot better looking than Janet, but i'm not going to vote for her because of that. She needs to demonstrate that she is more intelligent than Janet, which shouldn't be hard to do. We'll wait and see.

I am a third generation ant farmer from South County. I too would like to submit a bid with the Board of Supervisors for the sales and distribution of ants at Santa Ana Zoo.

UCI is a very fine educational assest for Orange County, and I actually applaud Sup Nguyen's actions for helping to connect UCI with Santa Ana at the Zoo. Granted the project is not going to draw World's Fair attendence numbers to the zoo, but at least Janet is thinking about bringing people into the district, specifically Santa Ana, through projects like this.

I don't think Supverisor Trung Nguyen would've ever cared about doing various projects like this within the district. He'd be too busy asking people to put money into brown paper bags for his re-election while he waited to face Solorio for the state senate seat. Although, in a matchup with Jose, I'm sure Trung would've gotten trounced but aww well... he already got trounced and that was good entertainment in and of itself. Let's see if he can now win a seat on the central committee. ;)

You should clearly know by now that not everyone who hates Janet Nguyen is a "Trannie". Janet seems to attract a lot of negativity where-ever she goes. In other words, there are A LOT of Janet haters out there, without the help of any Trannies. She should read, memorize, and learn by rote the Dale Carnegie book, "How to Win Friends and Influence People".

Dina Nguyen has three kids and a boyfriend? That's news to me. Why would I need to go to a Westminster City Council meeting to meet her boyfriend? Is he civically active in Westminster? If so then perhaps I haven't kept a watchful eye over EVERYTHING, lol.

I can attest to the fact that Janet has been having conversations about switching parties from Republican to Democrat.
Ever since Janet has been on the BOS she has been non-stop soliciting Wiley Aitkin for donations and Endorsements.

Additionally, Janet has taken donations from Teamsters Local 952, Treasurer Secretary Patrick D Kelly and I think also Nick Bernardino head of the Orange County employees Association OCEA.

Janet is backed into a corner and she will do anything, sell out on anyone, say anything, and take anything from anyone to save her political career. She cannot be trusted by either the GOP or The Dems. She needs to be retired by a serious challenge from a serious GOP or Democratic candidate.

Umm, if any of you lately -- or at any time for that matter -- read any materials from Trung Nguyen's campaigns? Does anyone check his stuff before it goes to print? There are grammatical errors all over the place... commas missing, run-on sentences, a period placed where a period should not go. It's like the press releases and flyers were written in English translated into Vietnamese and then translated back into English.
