The venue long-anticipated February 5 California Coastal Commission hearing on the 241 toll road completion has been changed from Oceanside City Hall to the Del Mar Fairground, according to this notice from the Commission:

Click here to read the Patton-esque response from the Transportation Corridors Agencies.
The assorted NIMBYs, enviro-lefties, and no-909ers-on-my-waves types who comprise the anti-241 crowd will be there in force. As the always are.
I realize it's a sacrifice for the working commuters who need the traffic relief to take the time off from work and testify in favor of completing the project, but there'll be a raft of anti-241ers the claiming completion of the 241 will shift the planet off its axis, or set in motion a chain of events leading to mankind's domination by talking apes (then again, they'd probably be OK with that).
My point is the coastal commissioners need to hear from regular folks. So if you can take the time off and attend the hearing, click here for more information. Transportation, etc. can be arranged.

Great description of the opposition Matt. I know our office will have someone there expressing Assemblyman Tran's support for this much needed traffic relief.
Just to remind your readers, here is video of Assemblyman Van Tran and Congressman Ken Calvert debunking the opposition's false claims:
