The "Great Park Team" sent out this three-alarm fund-raising e-mail yesterday:

Subject: December Push for Sukhee!
Dear Friends,
The following (see below) was posted on the Red County (Partisan right wing republican) blog encouraging support for Christina Shea's race for Mayor. The tone is typical -- name calling and the rest -- of what we can expect. That said, Christina Shea will have the OC Republican Party, The Lincoln Club and Red County working 24/7 to raise money on her behalf.Christina Shea For Mayor Fundraiser On December 17

The eternal, manichean ( depending which side you're on) struggle between the Agranistas and conservatives for control of the Irvine City Council continues into the 2008 election cycle. It's kind of like OC's own miniature War of the Roses.
In the battle for the mayorship, veteran Councilwoman Christina Shea will bear the conservative standard, while the Agranista banner will be carried by Councilman Sukhee Kang.
Our success has always been "people power" and community support. That's why it's so important to help Sukhee reach his early fundraising goal. He's still about $20,000 short of where he'd like to be by the end of the year, so please consider making a contribution today. Consider forwarding to your friends as well -- Sukhee will make a great Mayor -- that's why he has my support. Thanks for joining me in getting his campaign off to a great start!
"Name calling and the rest..."? Gads, I didn't realize the fragile souls at The Great Park Team were so brittle and offended by the term "Agranista." And I'm certain every mail piece The Great Park Team sends out next year will be so high-minded they'll make the Sermon on the Mount look like a Harvey Englander hit piece.
But thanks to the folks at The Great Park Team for letting me know all of us at Red County are going to be working 24/7 raising money for Shea -- because I certainly never got that memo. And I don't want the good old boys back at Machine HQ -- buried in a luxurious underground bunker complex beneath Newport Center -- thinking I'm a slacker.
Time to crack the whip and get on the stick 24/7 for Christina!:

Hey Thanks for posting. The Great Thing about being a Krommunist is that we play the Arganistas in softball every year ;)
Jubal,
Congratulations on being inducted into VOCRWC[*]. Has your secret decoder ring arrived in the mail yet?
[*] Vast Orange County Right Wing Conspiracy -- has a nice ring to it doesn't it?
That disclaimer at the bottom is a mess! Let me get this straight...they took the time and money to write the letter but could not include a place to put your name address, etc.
Yes Jubal, paranoia strikes deep into the Land of the Agranistas and Krommunists.
If you Reds and team Taiwan could only find a better candidate for mayor you might be able to really get them going. I always though that the early GOP bigwigs were fairly sharp---Sills and Vardoulis come to mind--even when I didn't agree with them. But with all due respect, Ms. Shea isn't in their league.
Shea's political team should take a hard look at that email. The email is addressed "From: Great Park Team [mailto:greatparkteam@cox.net]"
Yet at the bottom is Sukee Kang's political campaign information for mailing contributions.
So the question is this. Is "The Great Park Team" a PAC that did not disclose thier information?
Or is it just an email list that is from Sukee Kang's campaign, but disguised to influence people into thinking it is a request for donations to support the Great Park?
Not only should Shea's team be lookinbg at this, but so should Irvine's City Attorney to see if their might be a potential unauthorized use of the city's "Great Park" branding for political purposes.
One more time it appears the Agranistas might be playing it pretty loose with crossing some potential legal boundaries concerning campaign disclosure requirements.
So ... if you actually want to support Christina's campaign for Mayor, contact me at 949.293.5069 or anthony@tavpro.com. We've got this luncheon on Monday, the 17th, and other events coming up, too!
If the other side is gearing up their campaign like this, let's make their accusations of the County Party, Lincoln Club and Red County working 24/7 true!
Best of luck Anthony.
Honestly,
I cannot tell the difference between Agran and the Republicans who oppose him. BOTH favor a ton of unrestrained unmitigated development and sprawl. Larry Agran has approved more development than any other Irvine mayor in history!
Why they would call themselves the "Great Park Team" is beyond me. Almost 6 years after Measure Dubya passed all there is to show for is a silly orange balloon. Besides, the "Great Park" had the best polling numbers as an "alternative" to an airport. So they put that on the ballot and suckered enough gullible people in North County to side with the South County NIMBYs to stop an airport.
But Irvine really does not think airports are so bad as they have built homes almost across the street from John Wayne. El Toro simply had to be defeated so that the buffer zone could be eliminated and The Irvine Co. Could double the population of Irvine!
if u would like someone like Ms Shea be the Mayor and so u can hear her continue to state things such as this"I am So confused" then be my guest but I prefer someone that is intelligent, not confused and one that can appeal to all of Irvine .
She is wasting money suing the board she represents and joy how lovely we are going to be able to read the lovely material that the Lincoln Club will put out for Ms Shea.
