Christina Shea For Mayor Fundraiser On December 17

The eternal, manichean ( depending which side you're on) struggle between the Agranistas and conservatives for control of the Irvine City Council continues into the 2008 election cycle. It's kind of like OC's own miniature War of the Roses.
In the battle for the mayorship, veteran Councilwoman Christina Shea will bear the conservative standard, while the Agranista banner will be carried by Councilman Sukhee Kang.
Shea is kicking off her effort with a fund raiser later this month:
The City of Irvine places a limit on the amount of contributions that a candidate for a specific election may receive in a calendar year. The 2008 limit is $410 per individual* or corporation. This request for a contribution is not a request for a contribution in excess of this limit. *Married couples may contribute up to $820 ($410 each). Contribution checks for more than $410 must contain both husband's and wife's signatures. The source of contributions of $100 or more must be reported to the City Clerk. The source of contributions under $100 will not be reported.
