I'm in San Diego for the Republican legislative policy conference. Imagine my surprise when I saw The San Diego Union-Tribune on my hotel doorstep containing a lead editorial that mentioned my nuclear power efforts in the first graph. Sweet.
Just a few minutes ago I finished an online interview with the Union-Tribune's Chris Reed on his online program Radio Active (you can't make this stuff up).
Early tomorrow morning I speak on nuclear power to the L.A. Lincoln Club in Santa Fe Springs.

When Assemblyman Chuck DeVore introduced a bill last spring calling for California to end its long ban on new nuclear power plants, the response he got at a hearing of the Assembly Natural Resources Committee could not have been more telling. The panel's chairwoman - Berkeley Democrat Loni Hancock - wouldn't even let DeVore, R-Irvine, complete his presentation on how nuclear power could sharply reduce the greenhouse gases spewed out by coal-fired electricity plants. After Hancock cut DeVore off, the bill was killed on a party-line vote...

Keep up the good work on this issue Chuck. This is the most rational solution to our energy and environmental issues in this state when it comes to producing electricity.
