This press release just came over the transom from Trung Nguyen attorney Steve Baric, including statements from lead Trung attorney Mike Schroeder such as:
You can read the whole thing here.Trung Nguyen's contention is that a partial recount is not allowed. The electronic votes were not recounted, nor were the provisional and other ballots. By law, a partial recount is void. Should the Court of Appeals so hold, he would be entitled to be seated as supervisor.

Do you believe in miracles? I do. Merry Christmas everyone, muhahaha.
We all know Trung was the true winner on that race. Trung had worked very hard and I hope he will receive more votes next year.
More on: The Rules Just Don’t Apply to Janet Nguyen

On Wednesday I posted a story about Supervisor Nguyen using Health Care Agency funds to pay for her staff. To say the least it has generated a little traffic. One of the first comments the story got was from an anonymous poster who asked…
I wonder how Art Pedroza is going to justify this move by Janet N?
If any of our readers don’t know, Art is the proprietor of the Orange Juice Blog. Art has been a long time supporter of Supervisor Nguyen. He has valiantly jumped to her defense on more than one occasion. It was a good guess that he would have something to say and in usual form, Art did not let us down.
From his post Wednesday evening on Orange Juice:
Red & Blue County Blogs pile on Janet Nguyen, again
The folks at the Red and Blue County blogs are bashing O.C. Supervisor Janet Nguyen again. Yawn. This time they are perturbed because apparently one of her staffers was funded by the O.C. Health Care Agency.
I called Supervisor Nguyen to find out what this was all about. She said that when she first took office, she had to do so in a hurry. She had only one staffer, so the County CEO, Tom Mauk, found a way to transfer some help from the Health Care Agency.
This issue is yet another non-issue that Supervisor Nguyen’s enemies on the right and the left are blathering about.
Then Art took a series of clearly disoriented turns bringing up Supervisor Norby’s personal marital problems including claiming that Norby is sleeping in his office. He then launched himself head on into a wall of unrelated nonsense with this tirade:
But that’s not all. The same pajarito chirped that Norby was allegedly found, by police officers, visibly inebriated on the steps of the old County Courthouse the other day. At least he wasn’t driving!
Norby is of course the Supervisor who has been questioning Supervisor Nguyen about her staffers. What’s that saying about the pot calling the kettle black? Or not throwing stones if you live in a glass house?
In responding to a comment to his post asking; “Art, did Janet say how she planned to address the issue?” Art wrote:
No, she did not. Since the County CEO came up with all this, maybe he will find a way to unwind it.
Art’s comment demonstrates a clear pattern that has emerged with Janet Nguyen and her supporters when she is confronted with an error or difficult question.
She didn’t know there was a rule; or she didn’t think the rule applied to her; or she did what everyone else was doing (remodeling their offices); or someone told her that it was okay.
Well it looks like Art has launched Janet’s trial balloon of an excuse this time. The CEO did it. The CEO found her staff to fill in until she hired her full time staff. I doubt that CEO Mauk told her that HCA was picking up the tab.
In county government every job, every cost, has an account number that it must be billed to. While the staff person was loaned to her, the cost should have been charged to the First District budget.
With Janet Nguyen one thing is certain, she believes that the rules just don’t apply; to her.
Janet is an immature little girl. Spreading false allegations about Supervisor Chris Norby is unethical.
If this is how she is treating a colleague, we cannot expect very much from her as constituents.
"We all know Trung was the true winner on that race."
In which alternate universe do you live in?
There are plenty of people that deny an American landed on the moon or that the Halocaust happened. It looks like this tradition continues with you.
A simple trip to the County Civic Center might be helpful in enlightening you.
"A simple trip to the County Civic Center might be helpful in enlightening you."
I believe CRA was talking about the efforts made by the candidates during the campaign, not the recount, when Janet and her Union friends had the opportunity to throw out numerous Vietnamese votes because they drew a flower on their ballot to wish Trung best wishes.
If you believe in the true representative democratic process, Trung won the election. More constituents of the 1st District attempted to vote for him. Pure and simple.
