Meter shower December 13
We didn't see this anywhere in the local press so here's a reminder: The annual Gemini meteor shower is predicted to put on a good show with no moon light to obscure the trails and a clear sky forecasted. The constellation of Gemini, the twins, will rise in the eastern sky shortly after dark and will be high overhead by midnight, above the familiar Orion the Hunter.
Political junkies may wish to pass the time between meteorite sightings renaming various rising and falling constellations for the fortunes of various presidential candidates. The bright red star near Gemini is Mars, the war god. Now who will you rename that one after?
