Assembly Dem Has Fit Over Assembly GOP Brochure On Undocumented Prisoners

A reader sent me this article from yesterday's La Opinion. Pardon the automatic translation: it obviously makes for clunky English, but readers will get the gist of the article.
The brochure is about the cost of housing illegal immigrant convicts in state prisons, and so far three GOP Assemblymen have distributed it in their districts -- including OC's Jim Silva.
Democratic Assemblyman Tony Mendoza (whose neighboring district includes Buena Park) sniffed on opportunity to do a little outraged demagoguing -- because everyone knows it's racist to even mention there are criminals in California who are illegal immigrants.

The assembly De la Torre acknowledged that the Rules Committee chaired approved sending the question booklets, but justified it by saying that is sent to districts "super Republicans."
The point is that some of these booklets have arrived at homes Democrats or Latinos who have felt offended and have been forwarded to assembly members as Mendoza or Kevin de la Torre, a Democrat from Los Angeles, who a few months ago tronó against the same brochures.
It is illegal to target state mail by political party so there is no way they could send it to only Republicans or "super republicans." You would think the Chairman of the Assembly Rules Committee would know that. Just shows you how much respect the Democrats in Sacramento have for the rules.
Also, what kind of journailism is this? Isn't the Assemblyman's name Hector De La Torre or Kevin De Leon?
Who are they talking about?
