Interesting OC angle in the LA Times piece about spouses making money off of campaigns.
Most insiders know about Linda Ackerman and that she does real work raising money for Dick and others and Dick does not pay her much.
The real question is Dianne Harman and what she did for Coronado Communications. Does anyone know. No one seems to know what sort of work she has done on campaigns. Further, the comment in the article says she did treasurer work for Harman and was paid by the Harman campaign for it. Harman's reports do not show this. Does Dianne have a dba so she was paid under another name?
FROM THE LAT:
?
"* Sen. Tom Harman (R-Huntington Beach) had various campaign committees pay $98,000 in the last two years to Coronado Communications. His wife, Dianne Harman, is a consultant who lists Coronado Communications as her big client, bringing her between $10,000 and $100,000 last year in income. Jennifer Jacobs, a partner in Coronado Communications, said Dianne Harman was paid directly by her husband's campaign for some work as campaign treasurer, but Dianne Harman's work for the firm was for other political candidates, not her husband."
?
A quick look at Harman's campaign filings shows that Dianne was not paid by his campaigns and that his treasurer was Linda Scott, who was only paid a small amount.? So, one wonders about, "...said Dianne Harman was paid directly by her husband's campaign for some work as campaign treasurer..."
What's going on here? Did Jennifer Jacobs misspeak or are Harman's campaign reports hiding payments to his wife?

Actually I just went over to the Sec of State's website and you can see her listed on 3-17-07. $600 for campaign worker's salary. I presume thats what Jacobs was talking about.
