Some Home-Grown Satire Of The Disney/Anaheim Situation

Readers who don't regularly visit OCLegend.com, ought to do so. After all, it is the consistently funniest destination in the OC blogosphere -- or any OC media,
for that matter. It says so right there on the OCLegend.com masthead.
In March they published this very funny satire of Disney's lawsuit against Anaheim:
Theme Park Sues Theme Park City
Theme disputed
ANAHEIM -- Lawyers for a popular Anaheim theme park are taking the city to court for what they claim is a lack of "municipal imagination." City attorneys refused to comment on the case, other than to say, "It's clear that these guys hit their head after falling from the tram."
The park dropped hints about its litigious intentions in a stunning fireworks display above the city late last week. "F--K ANAHEIM!" read the massive red letters as pyrotechnic explosions lit up the cold night sky. "I'm glad they replaced the U and the C with them little mouse head characters," said one tourist as he and his family inhaled toxic fumes from the show in their hotel's parking lot across the street. "I got the kids and all, you know."
You can read the rest of the satirical piece here.

I indulge in a little OCLegend when I remember to check the site. I wish they had a mailing list.
They got another great NIMBY jab into issue 60 while cracking wise about the Anaheim fires:
Theme Park Denies Sparking Blaze
Disgruntled Anaheim park blames local baseball team
Authorities say several costumed characters are wanted for questioning.
ANAHEIM -- Citing what is being called a clear and obvious motive, Anaheim police are conducting an investigation into several reported sightings of popular theme park characters near the flash point of recent brush fires in Anaheim. The fire destroyed several structures in the Anaheim Hills area, which residents say is in no way related to the scummier, gang-infested parts of Anaheim.
Representatives for the theme park say the investigation is a politically inspired attempt to make the park look bad. "Who knew the city would stoop so low?" asked one theme park employee dressed in a costume to make him look like the bloodied victim of a terrible automobile accident. When asked about the gory getup, he explained that he was part of a new show on Main Street entitled "Anaheim: The Apocalypse!" which depicts horrifically inadequate public safety response times in the year 2020. "It'll make you think twice about low-income housing," he said.
