ASSEMBLYMEMBER JIM SILVA INVITES BUSINESS OWNERS TO SHARE HEALTH CARE CHALLENGES IN ONLINE SURVEY
Responses Will Help Lawmakers Craft Solutions to State’s Health Care Problems
SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Jim Silva, R-Huntington Beach, today invited business owners from across Orange County to share their experiences trying to afford health care for their employees by filling out an important new online small business health care survey on his Assembly website.
“Numerous proposals to fix our many health care challenges have been introduced or discussed by legislators over the last several months since the 2007 legislative session commenced. But before any proposal can be seriously contemplated, the perspective of business owners must be taken into consideration,” Silva said.
Orange County small business owners may share their individual experiences and their thoughts on health care reform proposals by completing the health care survey on Assemblymember Silva’s website. The survey can be found online at http://www.assembly.ca.gov/silva, and can be accessed by clicking on the link in the “Health Care Survey” box on the main page.
“Lawmakers should be looking for ways to improve California’s business climate. The Legislature needs to hear from business owners how current reform proposals will affect their businesses,” Silva continued. “Their real-life experiences will provide us with valuable insight as we work to make coverage more affordable and accessible for workers and businesses, while giving Californians more choice in their health care decision-making.”
