OC Sheriff Election Watch: Sheriff Joe Is In Town Tonight
By Allan Bartlett | 11/05/09 | 02:43 PM EDT | 2 Comments
Today is a big day for the Bill Hunt for Sheriff campaign. Maricopa County Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio is in town to headline a big fundraiser for Bill. Everyone knows Sheriff Joe's story. I've had people coming up to me who are not exactly big Bill Hunt fans say that they are pretty damn impressed that Sheriff Joe has not only endorsed Bill, but is actively helping this campaign raise money.
This is happening in conjunction with a big moneybomb day for Bill and a lot of other freedom candidates all over the country. It's November 5th today. That means it's Guy Fawkes Day. This means it is the second anniversary of former (and hopefully future)Presidential candidate Ron Paul's amazing $4 million dollar fundraising haul in one day.
We are hoping to raise $250k today for Bill. If you can't make it to the fundraiser tonight, you can watch a live webcast of it over at Bill's campaign site. Speaking of the website, there a neat little widget that shows the donations rolling in, in real time. It's cool to see donations from all over the country coming in to help us defeat a horrible sheriff...policy wise of course. I think Sheriff Hutchens is a nice lady, but she is has brought her LA-centric law enforcement ways to OC and it is not welcome. We need a sheriff who understands that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land. We need a sheriff who understands that he/she works for us, not the other way around.
A lot of credit should go to one of Bill's consultants James Sugra. James was the person who came up with the idea two years ago for a November 5th moneybomb on Guy Fawkes Day for Ron Paul. James is the one that has made all the cool You Tube videos for the campaign so far. He is definitely a rising star locally and nationally for his social media talents.
The Orange County Chapter of Campaign For Liberty and our members is one of the groups that is proud to be helping with this campaign.
And lastly, since today is Nov 5th, I will leave you with the trailer of the documentary movie V For Vendetta that was the original inspiration for all the activities today.
"People should not be afraid of their government. Government should be afraid of their people."

Alan, great to see you at the event. Great turn out tonight! I would have to say a big success for Bill Hunt. Keep up the good work picking winners.
The central theme of STAYING true to the Constitution needs to get out beyond this election. I think going back to our roots is catching on.

|It's not about picking "winners" for me. God knows I've helped on some hopeless campaigns. I get behind people that are genuine and share my small government constitutional philosphy. I just think people are so fed up with the spoon fed nihilistic candidates lately that they are gravitating towards candidates that I have always supported.
