The OC Fair...so much fun

Every year I write something about the coolness of the Orange County Fair. I am a fair enthusiast. It brings all communities, all constituencies in the county together.
So far this year I've only been once (to the Duran Duran concert) last weekend. But I have plans to spend a lot of time there over the course of the month that it's open.
My weekly column that appears in the Orange County Register's Irvine World News was about the fair this week. Check it out here.
While walking around and having dinner on Saturday night I met a whole bunch of people I know including my bank teller and several Fair Board directors.
I've purchased tickets to a bunch of concerts including the Alan Jackson next month.
This year there is at least one big change, the OC Marketplace (the swap meet) is operating at the same time as the fair (they usually shut down during the time when the fair is in town). So you can get your fill or funnel cake AND buy a leopard skin steering-wheel cover all in the same trip.
See you at the fair!
