Since its earliest days the Internet has been a place to express ideas and different points of view and of course by stuff.

Controversy has rained between various providers of different Internet providers. And the question has been, “Who controls the internet? The answer may surprise many of you. But the answer is President Barack Obama.

Well not yet anyway, but that is the result if the revised Unites Sates Senate Bill 773 became law.

Some of the controversial provisions includes language, which permits the president to "direct the national response to the cyber threat" for "the national defense and security." It allows "periodic mapping" of private networks and companies and declares that companies "shall share" requested information with our new found big brother.

It also gives the feds power to withhold federal monies from private contractors that don’t want to follow the governments new found rules.

It also creates a federal license for cyber security and mandates private companies use only those endorsed by the federal government.

The Internet has created jobs and economic growth for the many Americans and others around the globe. Why would we want to give the government more control of it in the name of “security”?
