Greenhut Chimes In On Umberg Residency

Steve Greenhut posted this yesterday on Orange Punch:
According to county counsel, supervisor candidates are supposed to be residents of the district where they are running. Residence is defined as domicile -- that means the place you really call home. Does Tom Umberg really call his Santa Ana condo home or this palace in Villa Park, as videotaped by OCBlog?
You can read the rest of the post here -- and watch the above-mentioned Chateau Umberg video below:

There's another intertesting aspect to the Umbergs' talent for political bilocation. Tom and Robin Umberg registered to vote at MacArthur Village in Santa Ana in October 2003. That means they claimed the (either 1 or 2 bedroom) unit as their domicile.
However, their two children didn't register to vote at the MacArthur Village rental until almost four months later, in mid-February 2004. That means their domicile during that period was the Villa Park house. So are we to believe the Umberg kids had the run of the spacious Villa Park house by themselves while their parents were domiciling in relaxing MacArthur Village?

All these maneuverings and residency fairytales point to the obvious: Tom Umberg doesn't live in the in the district he asks to represent. And the OC Democrats, who squawked long and loud about Lynn Daucher carpetbagging into the 34th District, are only too happy to be complicit in this deception.
