What A Joke!

It's quite hilarious how often Pres. Obama changes his stripes. He constantly preaches about accountability, change, and transparency as the new order of the day in Washington. Yet he signs the SCHIP program into law without consulting taxpayers who have to foot the bill. This program will be riddled with red tape, just like Medicaid and Medicare.
Moreover, some liberals are pushing for passage of the misnamed Free Choice Act, which would eliminate secret ballots in the workplace. It would force workers to unionize, and end up killing businesses and jobs. The government would dictate benefits, wages, work hours, hiring and firing rules, etc. Free enterprise as we know it would be eliminated in favor of socialism, even though workers deserve more choices within their occupations.
Americans don't need distant bureaucrats to tell them how to take care of their health, or have their careers straitjacketed by the Feds. Thankfully, Tom Daschle's idea of a Federal Health Board hasn't arrived yet, but it could be heading to your community in the future. Obama doesn't realize that Americans want to choose their own insurance, as well as their own doctors and hospitals. Likewise, most folks want to decide how to invest, save, and spend their hard earned dollars without nanny state interference.
It's laughable when Obama and members of Congress compliment themselves on the hard work they're doing for the American people. Does it demand hard work to take our money and spend it on a wide array of liberal pet projects? Is it hard to dig government out of debt by borrowing and going deeper into debt? A trillion dollars has already been spent on tax rebates and the TARP fiasco. Now the Democrats want to waste another trillion dollars on programs that could more effectively be run at the local level, or by the private sector.
Biden and Obama have hit the road. Biden is trying to build bridges abroad in order to better fight terror and tyranny. He makes it appear as if he's doing something new, but it's all retread news. Listening and talking with friends is fine. Although Biden's approach to outlaw states is slightly new, it'll achieve the same stale result. Rogue states only respect strength, not lectures and lofty rhetoric.
Obama is selling his "stimulus" package around America while most of the compliant media obliges and hangs on every word. Even if there were some good projects in the bill, the Feds are notorious in making temporary programs permanent. Most of the plan won't "boost" the economy for another year or two, when the recession will likely be over. Unfortunately, the bill will pass in some form despite opposition from most Republicans and the American people.
Although history is screaming at us not to pass this bill, Obama is stubborn and Congress will pass it to show that they are "doing" something. Notice how the liberals are trying to pass spending bills quickly before Americans can fully understand them. The "recovery" plan will increase deficit spending, escalate the national debt, and allow foreign countries to have more control over our debts and our society. Socialism has failed miserably in autocratic states, so just imagine what a colossal failure it will be in a free republic!!
It's amusing how Obama thinks that he can alter human nature, the free markets, and the trajectory of history!! He doesn't seem to care that his reckless actions could end up ruining this country by repeating past mistakes. The bill at most should be about $400 billion and be comprised of a variety of tax cuts. These incentives could generate new investments and spending, which would in turn create employment, profits, and trade.
If Obama goes through with his socialist experiment, businesses of all sizes ought to shut down for a few days or weeks just to show the government who really keeps the economy humming. When Obama's dictates stifle the economy, and most Americans start to shut down due to a busybody nanny state, there might be a chance he'll wake up and smell the coffee. But don't count on this narcissistic Icarus to ever heed the wisdom of the ages.
Even if we besiege Congress with our concerns, don't count on most members to make tough decisions in a responsible manner. For two years, the Dems have taken the easy way out, and that won't change. They don't seem to care that shortsighted rapid decisions on domestic and foreign policy will harm the American people, and saddle future taxpayers with gargantuan burdens. Although the proposed bill is a staggering joke, the predicament that Obama and Congress are placing this country in is not amusing.
