Here it is- the Congressional waste list, courtesy of our benevolent leader, Barack Obama:

• $2 billion earmark to re-start FutureGen, a near-zero emissions coal power plant in Illinois that the Department of Energy defunded last year because it said the project was inefficient.
• $246 million tax break for Hollywood movie producers to buy motion picture film.
• $650 million for the digital television converter box coupon program.
• $88 million for the Coast Guard to design a new polar icebreaker (arctic ship).
• $448 million for constructing the Department of Homeland Security headquarters.
• $248 million for furniture at the new Homeland Security headquarters.
• $600 million to buy hybrid vehicles for federal employees.
• $400 million for the Centers for Disease Control to screen and prevent STD's.
• $1.4 billion for rural waste disposal programs.
• $125 million for the Washington sewer system.
• $150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities.
• $1 billion for the 2010 Census, which has a projected cost overrun of $3 billion.
• $75 million for "smoking cessation activities."
• $200 million for public computer centers at community colleges.
• $75 million for salaries of employees at the FBI.
• $25 million for tribal alcohol and substance abuse reduction.
• $500 million for flood reduction projects on the Mississippi River.
• $10 million to inspect canals in urban areas.
• $6 billion to turn federal buildings into "green" buildings.
• $500 million for state and local fire stations.
• $650 million for wild land fire management on forest service lands.
• $1.2 billion for "youth activities," including youth summer job programs.
• $88 million for renovating the headquarters of the Public Health Service.
• $412 million for CDC buildings and property.
• $500 million for building and repairing National Institutes of Health facilities in Bethesda, Maryland.
• $160 million for "paid volunteers" at the Corporation for National and Community Service.
• $5.5 million for "energy efficiency initiatives" at the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration.
• $850 million for Amtrak.
• $100 million for reducing the hazard of lead-based paint.
• $75 million to construct a "security training" facility for State Department Security officers when they can be trained at existing facilities of other agencies.
• $110 million to the Farm Service Agency to upgrade computer systems.
• $200 million in funding for the lease of alternative energy vehicles for use on military installations

That's over 124 BILLION dollars in pork.

I'm especially fond of the 75 million to pay for salaries in the FBI. Were their projections so bad that they are already out of money, or is this evidence of Obama re-instating the failed Clinton policy of treating the Global War on Terror as a police activity?

How about another 650 billion to allow people to buy TV converters for the switch to digital. I never spent my expired coupons- how many other people ordered them and didn't spend them? How much money has fallen through the cracks on this already?

400 million to prevent STD's. I have one comment- zip up your fly- it'll save us 400 million dollars.

Lastly 2 BILLION DOLLARS to fund a clean coal plant that has already been deemed a failure.

Way to go Congress. You've reached a new low...

Well it's important to

Well it's important to realize just how bad the STD situation really is. Acording to the CDC over 1 in 4 teens have an STD. That's pretty darn high so at least that money will be put to some kind of good use.

Smoking Cessation Budget versus the E-cigarette

Its amazing to me that the government will put $75 million into the "smoking cessation" budget, yet the FDA is pushing for a full ban of the electronic cigarette. This device has  the greatest ptential to save millions of lives out of all the devices out there, yet my government wants to ban it. On top of that, they want to put millions into other smoking cessation options. Why does our government always look at the best option and say "Im going to do the exact opposite of that?".

Wooow OK.!

Well I do not agree with your comment on the STD package. Some children are born with it. If the parent has it, it will be transmitted into the child. So to save a child, they do research. So in that part I disagree with your comment. They youth summer jobs are a good thing. Adults are always "complaining" we cause nothing but problems, so why not have the youth summer jobs? They want the kids out of their hair and have them learn something, so I would say I support that as well. $500 million for state and local fire stations? Well what are you gonna do if you have a HUGE house, how you gonna put it out, with your urine? Seriously. Some of these things are a good thing. Not all of them are that bad. No, I am not some rich person who does not care about the less fortunate. I just read through this and realized that a lot of them are a good thing. No reply needed. You wanna argue? E-Mail me or go to my homepage and start with me. Have a nice day!
