Who's to Blame For the Fannie, Freddie Mess?

While there's plenty of blame to go around, it isn't John McCain.
Human Events posted a copy of a letter dated May 5, 2006 signed by McCain and 19 other senators which says in part that it is
"...vitally important that Congress take the necessary steps to ensure that [Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac]...operate in a safe and sound manner.[and]..More importantly, Congress must ensure that the American taxpayer is protected in the event that either...should fail."
Conspicuously absent is Barack Obama's signature...or any other Democrat's signature. They were probably too busy defending the ill-gotten gains of their friends in this government-created financial monster.

"Who's to blame?"
B. Clinton, "most" of Congress (1999) & Wall Street - for dismantling post 1929 safeguards against Wall Street Greed - with the OUTRAGEOUS 1999 Gramm/Leach/Bliley Act.
Treason trial, anyone?
