WHAM!

Here it goes, the poll numbers shift.
How is it that so many women who have been running the kids from soccer field to school, to the market, who were so engaged and excited about the Palin nomination now shifted allegiance to the Acorn Presidential Candidate? How is that? In terms of functionality it is clear that women ages 30-55 years of age are moving these numbers away from McCain's favor and looking to his opponent. Why?
This goes beyond the "sort of interesting" discussion and banter at the local community farm stand, and shifts the Republican campaigns into absolute crisis mode as of noon EST Wednesday.
Is this shift pushed along by the Dow's volatility and the dysfunctional bailout plan that will take anywhere from two months to ten years to kick in? Is this the result of a successful Bush blame-game fueling the argument to shift party allegiance?
That said, I'm not buying it.
I believe America is smarter and more thoughtful than that.
The Bush-blame game, the market volatility, and desire to elect change for the heck of it is not the most brilliant strategy my friends. If anything, logic would dictate the sound decision and choice on November 4th continues to be the McCain/Palin ticket. America needs to ask itself: do we need to take on more risk with such domestic financial volatility and pending Soviet/Korean dissonance by electing someone with a newborn level of political savvy, who is looking to socialize heath care, increase spending, and will appoint four new Supreme Court Justices?
I believe January 22, 2009 should begin on firm footing with an experienced leader who knows how to surround himself with the very best minds in our country as trusted advisors. I do not believe, however, January 22, 2009 should launch a learning curve for someone who's desire to change America was spawned while he was a young man sitting at the feet of radical activists that expressed a hatred for America.
I'm not buying it my friends. I have more faith in you than to believe that would be true.

Good posting. With some three + weeks still to go a reversal of that female-to-Obama trend is likely.
Welcome to Red County, Angela. You make outstanding points on the importance of this election. Keeping my fingers crossed for a awakening before November.
I'm not buying it either. I have a hunch that the polls are being manipulated to match the ACORN manipulation. Geeze, I sound so paranoid. I guess I must be really paranoid because I also believe that the economy is being manipulated and the media is happily playing along. Is it just me or is there too much happening all at once?
I never trust the polls. They always seem to be off in favor of the Democrats. The media is trying their best to take the wind out of our sails with these predictions.
Welcome to red county, and great post. I am worried that the whole Alaskan panel tells the world that Governor Palin over-stretched her executive powers story will give people an easy way to continue to attack her.
The polls are being purposely manipulated to anticipate a huge Democrat turnout. If you assume a huge Democrat turnout, then as a statistician you can move the poll numbers a couple points pretty easily beyond the truth. The truth in my humble opinion is that these two guys are tied.
McCain's blasting of earmarks, only to arrive in Washington and vote for a new, earmark-laden "bailout" doesn't help. Neither does his surprise $300 billion mortgage buyout from the debate the other night. I'm easily considered a "Republican activist" and my jaw dropped at that. I think Gov. Romney's did, too, in case any of you saw the post-debate interview with him. McCain needs to make sure he doesn't let the Palin bump with conservatives slip away by remindind them why they were lukewarm for him before that.
That said, I'll end on a positive note. Was happy to hear him start to take on Obama the other day. More of that, less "he's a decent guy" please!
