Biden: Telling The Truth Is Now Dangerous

In further evidence that the Obama/Biden campaign has absolutely no respect for free speech, Joe Biden told a crowd today that addressing Barack Obama's past associations is nothing more than 'dangerous rhetoric'.
The Los Angeles Times calls the association between Obama and 70's Pentagon bomber Ayers "loose". But the evidence is mounting (including in the CNN report below) that indeed Barack Obama owes his entire political career to William Ayers. My question is, how is pointing out a past association "dangerous". Is this a veiled threat? You decide?
Saying that McCain and Palin are "taking the low road to the highest office in the land," Biden argued that McCain's campaign has launched personal attacks against Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama as an attempt to get voters "to stop paying attention to what's really going on in this election."
