The Bottom Line

Most Americans understand that Gov. Sarah Palin performed far beyond expectations during Friday's debate at Washington University. She represents part of the future of the GOP, and apparently seems to be ahead of her time. Her energy, humor, ideas, and optimism bring back memories of Ronald Reagan and the ideals of human liberty. Moreover, her partner, John McCain, may be quite advanced in years in the biological sense, but he certainly is much younger than Obama/Biden in parts of his vision for the future.

By contrast, Joe Biden not only looked old and tired with his angry passion, but he stubbornly did his best to resurrect the stale narrative of socialism that just won't wash with common sense Americans. He and the youngster Obama are stuck in reverse mode in their attempt to take the country backward instead of forward.

Biden still wants to talk with our enemies even though talking to leaders of rogue states is the ultimate bridge to nowhere. He harped on the costs of the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, but failed to mention the priceless tradeoffs of emerging democracy in states that have never had much freedom. Moreover, it's quite laughable that Biden is still hung up on the Bush administration, even though Bush isn't running for re-election.

Unsurprisingly, most academics, Hollywood types, and members of the unbalanced Fourth Estate (established Old Media, MSM) crowed about Biden's command of the issues. They conveniently ignore the fact that Biden has been on the wrong side of most issues pertaining to economic freedom, foreign policy, and individual freedom.

Campaign 2008 represents a great contrast. On the one hand, the Obama/Biden team is caught up in the mental gymnastics of shifting positions as they lecture and preach to us. On the other hand, the McCain/Palin ticket embodies a sense of connection to regular Americans. McCain and Palin talk to us, not at us, or down to us. Why is that?

It's because they are real human beings who have endured the vicissitudes of life, and experienced the burdens of accountable leadership. They are action oriented individuals that have identified and solved problems. They have worked hard to put Americans first, ahead of personal gain, and often at odds with their own party.

When voters enter polling booths on Nov. 4th, they couldn't care less if a candidate is a polished speaker or not, or what the liberal polls are spinning out. They care about voting for proven leaders that will put country first, and will fight to preserve, protect, and defend our natural human liberties.

Let's hope that the McCain/Palin team starts to build momentum from this debate forward by just being themselves, by using humor, and mixing with the voters. They need to continue to hammer away at the anti-liberty platform of Obama/Biden. Perhaps they can unleash some type of October surprise as well. In addition, McCain needs to assertively articulate his freedom and reform agenda at the next two debates.

Historically, the bottom line is that most VP's haven't had much effect in helping the top of the ticket to win the presidency. However, In 2008, I predict that a large swath of voters will be thinking about Gov. Palin when they pull the lever for John McCain.

So the SNL skit was true! As long as Sarah Palin didn't cry, faint, run out of the room or vomit in the debate, you republicans feel she won. Since when do you have "low expectations" for a person running for Vice President of the United States? Low expectations? Wow, I've worked in Corporate America for about 16 years and we would never have low expectations of someone we promote to Vice President of the company. Actually it's just the opposite. We choose the best of the best and would usually have seen them perform at an extremely high level before in that situation, before they are even thought of as a VP of the company. Palin would be laughed out of any company! She is a moron! Satire is only funny if it's true! Think about it! If you tried to do a comedic satirical spoof on Obama, Biden or even McCain, making fun of how dumb they were, it wouldn't make sense. On the other hand, Tina Fey as Palin and Will Ferrell as Bush are hilarious because it is relevant and true! They are idiots!

Why do you guys think it's okay when running for the Vice Presidency: 1)to be totally ignorant on Foreign Policy issues, 2)to actually defend the fact that proximity to Russia gives her foreign policy experience, and not be joking 3)to not be able to answer a question about what periodicals she's read that she said gave her perspective on foreign and domestic affairs, 4)to ramble on incoherently about different topics that make no sense 5)to not know what the Bush Doctrine is when running as the republican VP of the U.S. etc......?

Palin was a recklous and irresponsible pick for VP. McCain met her once then picked her the second time he met her, she will never be chosen by the American people thru a national vote, so we don't know her and more disturbingly, McCain doesn't know her. But I guess because you feel she can relate to certain Americans and Joe Six Packs across the country, even though she has no idea of how to help them, she is the very best candidate for VP? And God Forbid something was to happen to McCain, she's definitely ready to be President. Right?

Its funny you still ask who is Obama? Can you trust him? Yet after a 36 minute speech at the convention, you were totally behind Palin, trusted her completely to be VP and even President. She didn't have to prove anything. And since she's proven to be an idiot, for you guys to still support her, is actually a wonderful thing for Barack Obama! Obama and all of his supporters realize that anyone still excited about Palin is a vote that he would definitely not have gotten anyway. She is only for the base and is preaching to the diminishing converted! Intelligent women are offended by her choice as VP and intelligent people in general are sick of George Bush type dummies! We've been down this road of choosing a president based on his ability to relate or wanting to sit down and have a beer withem. Bush and Palin are dumb and dumber and it's embarrasing to the world that anyone would ever go down this road again with another Bushlike ignorant candidate.

But I guess it is proven that Obama doesn't do well on average getting the votes of UNEDUCATED white voters and somehow does exceptionally well with getting EDUCATED white voters. I wonder why that is? Who's more likely to have a problem with Obama's race EDUCATED or UNEDUCATED people? You know the answer to that! Enough said!
