Playing the race card in middle school.

At 12 years of age, Ashleigh Jones has learned two valuable lessons. First, Liberal Democrats will stop at nothing to prop up Obama- they will even insult a child. Secondly, she learned that politics is a full contact sport. Sadly, Ashleigh went to school one day in a pink McCain- Palin shirt and was called a racist. What happened to her was deplorable, but unfortunately, it was predictable.
Not only have I seen it before- it's happened to my children before. Ashleigh's story immediately reminded me of 2 incidents- 1 personal and one national story from the last presidential election.
You may remember the story of three-year-old Sophia Parlock. She was made famous because Kerry- Edwards supporters grabbed a Bush- Cheney sign from her and tore it up at a rally the Tri-State Airport in Huntington, W.Va. In this case, over zealous Kerry supporters assaulted a 3 year old to make their point.
The more personal story happened to my children. We used to live on a busy street. I was a precinct committeeman, and I had a 4x8 Bush- Cheney sign in my yard. I used to sit in my truck, waiting for the school bus to pick up my children. One day a car slowed down as they drove by my children. The passenger side window rolled down on the car (a tan Toyota Corolla). A middle aged man sitting in the passenger seat of the car yelled "F$%*ing Nazi" to my 3 children. I stepped out of the truck, and they sped away. This 40 year old man swore at 5, 7 and 9 year old children to make a political point. As young Miss Jones learned, this is typical of our opposition.
Ironically, this behavior has been happening for years, as the left built a stereotype for conservatives. They say many things about us, but it usually boils down to "conservatives are mean". It's a stereotype that we must break.
Generally, statistics prove that conservatives donate more time and money to their community. We don't do this because we are mean. I have also never seen a conservative act in a manner as illustrated above. I'd also like to point out that popular liberals like George Soros and James Carville have never been accused of being cuddly and warm- one might even say that Soros is mean.
In an election year where popular Democrats have been reluctant to put forth anything other than campaign slogans and vague notions, we can finally add something else. Race-baiting.
Political parties are led from the top down. The vague inference that you are a racist if you don't vote for Obama has been fostered by the DNC and their favorite son since he jumped ahead of Sen. Clinton in the Democratic primaries. It has now trickled down to the level of the school yard. Does Obama put a stop to this? No. It's the tactic he has successfully used to negate the Jeremiah Wright controversies.
The one true allegation of racism was born of the Wright controversy. Quotes attributed to Wright such as "In the 21st century, white America got a wake-up call after 9/11/01. White America and the western world came to realize that people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just 'disappeared' as the Great White West kept on its merry way of ignoring black concerns." and "The Israelis have illegally occupied Palestinian territories for over 40 years now. Divestment has now hit the table again as a strategy to wake the business community and wake up Americans concerning the injustice and the racism under which the Palestinians have lived because of Zionism." are truly born of racism.
Let's stop blaming little girls and place the race card firmly where it belongs- in Obama's hand.
