Arnold Schwarzenegger will veto the budget cobbled together by Democrats and Republican in the wee hours of the morning.

Why?

Poltically he should do it to restore his popularity. Who is less popular than the state legislature? No one. A fight with them will help him regain popularity. Especially, with a possible recall by the prison guards on the horizon.

It has risk with a possible veto over ride, but it would allow the Gov. to seize the initiative. It would make him appear to be a leader.
