Dems Might Regret It

Most common sense Americans have their feet planted on the ground and they understand the nature of the real world. They have practical ideals that are based on actions, not on pipedreams, and they can spot a phony a mile away. Voters with a sense of history are more in touch with reality, and they are doing what they can to help the McCain/Palin ticket earn victory on Nov. 4th.
However, moderates and conservatives alike should be aware that a different outcome could occur on election day. If Barack Obama wins the election, John McCain would return to his duties, and Sarah Palin would continue as the Alaskan governor. Voters that cherish liberty and robust national security hope and pray that this scenario never sees the light of day.
If it does, this is what the Obama/Biden team would strive to impose on the USA. Biden would exert great influence in the White House and he'd be a tie-breaking vote in the Senate. Instead of streamlining government, Obama would make our bloated federal government even larger. He would achieve this with the help of a Democratic-led Congress. Even if Obama raised taxes only on the top 5% of income earners, it would have a trickle down impact on the other 95% of hardworking taxpayers.
Why so? Because those in the top 5% of the tax bracket are wage earners, as well as self-employed business folks that often hire employees. These are the Americans that take risks, build businesses, provide capital, and create millions of jobs that foster a dynamic free market system that is the envy of the world.
Hiking their taxes would decrease the incentive for them to grow the economy, which in turn would negatively affect employment, productivity, and trade. Consequently, it would reduce choices for all Americans and severely jeopardize our global competitiveness. The economy could collapse and a depression would ensue.
The Obama vision would strangle our liberties. Since he thinks he's smarter than the rest of us, he would further regulate business enterprises, education, our financial decisions, our healthcare, our energy consumption, and so on. His bureaucratic programs would stifle creativity, and generate a dysfunctional relationship between the government and the people.
Obama would strive to shut down balanced media outlets, as well as conservative electronic and print media formats. He would cut these outlets off at the knees through stiff regulations and taxes. He'd try to coerce a free press and free speech to tilt in a leftward direction, which would undermine our democracy.
Obama would nominate liberal judges that would do far more than render opinions on legal cases, and dispense impartial justice. His judges would advance a leftist agenda and try to enforce laws, re-write laws, or write new laws. They would ignore the will of the people and trample all over the Constitution.
Obama's micromanaged socialist vision would not only weaken our prosperity, but it would endanger our national security. Emerging powers would become stronger, and terrorists and tyrants would throw their weight around and laugh at Obama. Dictators and terrorists don't fear, or respect the Obama/Biden appeasement team. Despots, such as Iran's Ahmadinejad, know that these two politicians talk a good game, but they have no practical executive experience.
Immigrants that look to America often flee from authoritarian, socialist regimes to seek freedom and opportunity. They understand from experience that socialism is a colossal failure. Immigrants might change their destination if they realize that socialism would greet them again as they arrive on our shores. They might have second thoughts, or move elsewhere if they sense a decline in the American Dream.
When a politician attempts to implement a benevolent tyranny in a free society, it stirs up great resentments among the citizenry. Americans value freedom and voluntary solutions to problems. So the only silver lining in an Obama administration would be the fact that Americans would go around, over, through, and under the mandates of a socialist system. Americans have always resisted over-reaching government.
Even some Democrats and liberals might regret an Obama administration because they would realize American exceptionalism on the wane. Folks like Sen. Joe Lieberman understand America and its unique role in the world. Moderate Democrats who put their country first would eventually recognize that Obama would keep America in neutral, or he'd put the ship of state into reverse.
Gradually, many Democrats would see that Obama's unlimited nanny state would kill some of their freedoms, too. They'd regret that they voted for a snake charmer who is so out of touch with Americans. They'd probably predict that Obama would someday be rated the worst one-term president in American history.
Of course, all of this doesn't have to happen. If moderate Democrats, independents, and undecided voters do the right thing and vote for John McCain, we can avoid this nightmare scenario. Certainly, there will be great challenges during a McCain administration, but he does have a track record of courageous leadership that can guide his decisions and tough calls. Most Americans want a president that defends their liberties, preserves the rule of law, and fights to protect this great nation from its enemies.
