Red County Scoops Mainstream Media and Political Blogosphere on McCain VP Pick
ORANGE COUNTY - As the nation finished watching Barack Obama deliver his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention, Alaska's governor, Sarah Palin was quietly making her way to Ohio as John McCain's pick for the his vice presidential running mate.
Throughout the week, rumors swirled in the mainstream press and the political blogosphere around speculation of McCain's shortlist. Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Bobby Jindal, and Kay Bailey Hutchinson appeared to be the odds on favorites.
Last night however, Jessica Austin, editor of Red County San Bernardino, connected the dots and correctly concluded that a privately chartered jet bound from Alaska to Ohio tipped the hand of the McCain campaign. Her post, in part reads,"If my information (and guess) is correct- Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska is McCain's VP pick. McCain is making his announcement tomorrow in Dayton, Ohio. Look who chartered a jet from Alaska to Ohio this evening... How many people do you know charter jets from Alaska (especially considering their population) to Ohio- the location of the Republican presidential nominee?"
