I point this out so everyone can go over and check out how biased that this upstart news organization has decided to be.
Republicans alike? I dare the Politico to show where one Republican has written that they have a real fear that Palin will lead to a Democrat landslide. I'll then show you a Republican that has lost his/her grit.
More biased media alerts coming.

Let's stop pretending this race is as close as national polling suggests. The truth is McCain is essentially tied or trailing in every swing state that matters -- and too close for comfort in several states like Indiana and Montana the GOP usually wins pretty easily in presidential races. On top of that, voters seem very inclined to elect Democrats in general this election -- and very sick of the Bush years.
McCain could easily lose in an electoral landslide. That is the private view of Democrats and Republicans alike.

Well the bulletpoints were certainly on target. McCain was desperate, worried about the appearance of his age, willing to gamble, and worried about the base. Palin certainly addressed all of those issues in bulk.
As far as the landslide, that certain is a matter of opinion as noone can reliably see the future of the election. If they speculated based upon factual data, they could have made the argument. After all, 75% of newly registered voters here in CA prior to Labor Day were Democrats. Although most of them were primary related and granted, Democrats are lazy and only about 65% of them will show up, still, you can't deny those numbers.
I don't predict a landslide myself in the presidential election, however, democrats are pretty likely to take more seats in both the House & Senate...the presidency is dependent upon whom frames the debate. If the RNC keeps up the God Guns & Gays mantra, they'll have engineered a Democratic landslide. But that's up to them.
If this election about the economy, unemployment, the war lingering on another 10 yrs, healthcare....all issues this party would be best served avoiding. If those are the issues, expect a substantial Obama victory...but not a landslid. Otherwise, expect a 3% win. What that translates in electoral votes depends upon if McCain wins CA & NY or Obama makes any progress in red states. Those 2 routes are the only ways to a landslide--the candidate needs to win in his opponents strongholds. I don't see that happening.
I fail to see how you stay engulfed in fantasy and are still able to get along in the real world. Barack Obama is the one that made the Americans Gods and Guns quip, not Republicans. As for the real issues, McCain talks about Iraq and what it is going to take to get us out of there WITH VICTORY while obama just talks about getting us out of there. I promise you that lower gas prices and lower taxes will create jobs and that is the McCain method for achieving just that. Obama is going to raise taxes and keep us dependent on foreign oil. How is his plan going to create jobs?
Healthcare is an issue that will not be solved with the Obama plan. This country can ill afford to provide free medical insurance to every citizen. Not only is that economically ruinous, but socialized medicine (which is what this is) has not worked where ever it has been tried, even in Massachusetts.
Did I say Obama would be the messiah or solve healthcare concerns for America?
What I said is that carrying the partisan torch of GGG 2006 would ensure the same landslide...I don't think we disagree that having the government run our healthcare system or mandate that citizens carry coverage (MA) would be a mistake.
The argument, lost on you, is that McCain is not very good at debating issues such as these and is completely out of touch with America. The economy has cooled & the dollar has collapsed ala USSR 1988-1992 ruble. If it weren't for our borrowing power at the Bank of AmeriChina, we'd be in similar trouble.
I've been paying taxes for over 4 decades and never gotten a cut. When a Presidential candidate says he's gonna give me a cut, I aks, "..does the president submit legislation to change the tax code?..." Since the president, no matter which one it is, doesn't have the capacity, it's a completely bogus argument. There are Tax reclassifications...but mostly I'm taking my money out of a different pocket and putting it in a different government hopper.
The entire argument was about the article. Was McCain:
Desperate? Yes, very
Age? Yes a major issue
Gambling? an obvious Yes as dozens of better choices were avail.
Base? Yes, even you bludgeoned him right up to his CA primary landslide.
What was unfair about the article was it's insistence that O-man would win a lopsided race. Not because it's untrue (it would only be speculation), but because they didn't provide any data suggesting their premise.
Hey, go ahead, predict a powerful Romney-like win again here in CA if you desire. You're entitled to your opinion.
