Hilarious Convention Moments

Posted by: Christian P. Milord | 08/28/2008 5:27 PM

Isn't it amazing that influential liberals in the Democratic Pary try so hard to convince voters that they are like us, and we are like them? Michelle Obama attempted this game at the Denver Convention, but it just won't wash with most Americans.

At one time these politicians might have been like regular Americans, but most have become elitists who want to cram their socialism down our throats. If these liberals were like regular Americans, they would reduce regulations, eliminate wasteful programs, and cut taxes pronto. That would restore more choices and freedom for everyone.

It's funny that Michelle and Hillary (Hillarious) bash the wealthy, yet they are quite prosperous themselves. If the American Dream is fading, their lives certainly aren't reflections of that mantra. Most liberal members of Congress are quite well-to-do, yet they can't resist the temptation to rail against the success of the McCain's.

Whenever the Democrats assail conservative leaders, they are actually insulting most Americans, because most Americans are moderate to conservative, and they work hard. Republicans are proud of their successes, and they don't exhibit a phony guilt about hard work and prosperity.

Obviously, the Democrats want the American Dream for themselves and no one else. Their nanny state vision would generate dysfunctional dependency, rather than liberty and opportunity for all folks to fail, or succeed on their own merits.

If the Democrats really cared about the middle class and poor, they'd encourage them to be autonomous, instead of coercing taxpayers to subsidize grossly inefficient and unsustainable entitlements. The Dems attempt to make it sound wonderful that they will regulate and tax us to death, which would allow them to accumulate power.

It was hilarious when Sen. Clinton and Sen. Biden tried to tie Pres. Bush to John McCain, yet they know that McCain is far different on a range of issues. He has an independent streak and endorses more fiscal accountability than Bush, and he advocated the surge before the president did. Although he's imperfect like the rest of us, McCain is a proven leader who can admit mistakes.

During the Donkey Convention, politician after politician mentioned the domestic successes under Pres. Clinton. It's funny that they conveniently ignored the fact that during his tenure, terrorists became more emboldened, and balanced budgets and welfare reform came about due in large part to the Republican's "Contract With America."

Amazingly, all these Democratic governors and members of Congress don't understand why many Americans are struggling. Tough economic times can be caused by disasters, global trends, poor financial decision making, and soul crushing regulations and taxes. Many speakers bemoaned outsourced American jobs, but they didn't mention millions of jobs insourced to the USA.

Congress is partly to blame for these challenging times, because they set a poor example. At the convention, these childish liberals urged Americans to practice a life of conservation and preservation of resources, yet they routinely leave a huge carbon footprint in their wake.

The Clinton's, Biden, and Obama all think that Bush and McCain have been wrong on foreign policy, yet progress is occurring in the war on terror and other spheres of national security. Indeed, we haven't been hit with a terror strike in seven years.

These defeatists opposed the surge, and want to end the war now. Perhaps they forgot to read the memo that it is foolhardy to end a war before there is victory, and the militant Islamists wants to lay down their arms and surrender. The enemy hasn't done that yet.

Dem after Dem painted our brave military forces as victims, yet these troops valiantly volunteer to serve their country in order to defend liberty. They put their country and American ideals first, something that many politicians lack the courage to do.

Moreover, the comedians at the convention think that America is supposed to be liked by other nations. Actually, America's role is to do the right thing by protecting democracy and liberty, and supporting responsible democracy and freedom abroad.

Unfortunately, the Democrats think that they are smarter than the American people, and they fail to grasp the meaning of limited government that our founders envisioned. They want to institutionalize a benevolent tyranny that would damage our society, and jeopardize our national security. They claim to represent the people and want to give power back to the people, yet all their actions belie that assertion. Now that isn't so funny.

All in all, many hilarious moments in Denver. I won't even mention Sen. Obama, as we already know what this snake oil salesman has been peddling for over twenty years. Let us hope and pray that during this national election, Americans will outsmart this clever con artist, and send him back to the Senate. If he fools the voters, our lives and the state of this great republic won't be a laughing matter.
