Republicans: Come On get Happy... And Busy!

I've predicted for the last 6 months that an Obama vs. McCain race would keep a Republican in the White House but Clinton on the ticket was always the wild card. Now that Obama has made the dismal choice of "Slow Joe" Biden for VP and McCain has made the stellar choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, I am as pumped as I ever was during Bush/Cheney04. 3 months ago I was ready start a write-in campaign for Fred Thompson but today I strangly at ease with the Republican ticket.

So goes it with most Republicans I have corosponded with since McCain announced his VP choice. Party faithful are pumped and revved up for victory. But a decent ticket and other factors moving in the GOP favor are not going to beat Obama/Biden. The unions are going to spend billions to beat McCain and the Democrat faithful are zealous bunch of hard workers. We need to counter Obama's funding tsunami with a ground game to beat all groundgames.

Now those local Republican headquarters that have been opening up around the country are starting to seem like a nice place to spend a few nights a week and those long traverses through endless neighborhoods, knocking and dropping, don't feel like they'd be a total waste of time.

I don't need to tell the folks that are reading tis post what they need to do. But I feel that it is my duty to share with you my feeling that we have a better than excellent chance to parlay a great headwind and hard work into a Republican SWEEP in November. But it's going to take you, me and everyone else to get it done.
